    P R O G R A M B O O K L E T

  • Our Lady of Mount CarmelCARM-EL - THE GARDEN OF GOD

Opening Song: Gentle WomanHail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women, and blest is the fruit of your womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now, and at the hour of death. Amen.

Gentle woman, quiet light, morning star, so strong and bright; gentle Mother, peaceful dove, teach us wisdom, teach us love.

You were chosen by the Father, you were chosen for the Son. You were chosen from all women, and for women, shining one. Gentle . . .

Blessed are you among women. Blest in turn, all women too. Blessed they with peaceful spirits. Blessed they with gentle hearts. Gentle . . .

Litany of Our Lady of Mount Carmel

Continue through all the titles of Mary

  • Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world, forgive us, O Lord.Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world, hear us, O Lord.Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world, have mercy on us.Pray for us, O holy Mother of God, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Let us pray: Lord God, you willed that the Order of Carmel should be named in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of your Son. Through her prayers as we honor her today bring us to your holy Mountain, Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit for all the eternal ages. Amen.

Salve Regina Salve Regina, mater misericordiae; vita dulcedo, et spes nostra salve. Ad te clamamus exsules filii Hevae. At te suspiramus gementes et flentes in hac lacrymarum valle. Eja ergo Advocata nostra, illos tuos miseri-cordes oculus ad nos converte. Et Jesum, benedictum fructum ventris tui, nobis post hoc exilium ostende. O clemens; O pia; O dulcis Virgo Maria.

Silence in silence we pray for the heart of Mary being sensitive to the presence and voice of God within and around as we walk through life.

O Sanctissima (O Most Holy one)Mary, full of grace, Splendor of our race; holy Virgin Maria!Pray for us to Christ, your Son, now and when our life is done! Ora, ora pro nobis!

Mother, Virgin pure, Hope and Refuge sure, lead us safely to Jesus! Spirit filled and lowly, Mirror of the Holy! Ora, ora pro nobis!

    Hail Mary

  • Sing of Mary

Sing of Mary, pure and lowly, Virgin Mother undefiled. Sing of Gods own Son most holy, Who bcame her little child. Fairest child of fairest mother, God the Lord who came to earth. Word made flesh our very brother, takes our nature by his birth.

Sing of Jesus, son of Mary, in the home at Nazareth. Toil and labor

cannot weary, love enduring unto to death. Constant was the love he gave her, though he went forth from her side, forth to preach and heal and suffer, till on Calvary he died.

Glory be to God the Father; Glory be to God the Son; Glory be to God the Spirit; Glory to the Three in One. From the heart of blessed Mary, from all saints the song ascends, and the Church the strain re-echoes unto earths remotest ends.

    Hail Mary

    Immaculate Mary

Imaculate Mary, your praises we sing. You reign now in heaven with Jesus our King. Ave, Ave, Ave Maria! Ave, Ave Maria!

In heaven the blessed your glory proclaim; on earth we your chil-dren invoke your fair name. Ave.

  • Consecration to Our Lady of Mount CarmelCelebrating this feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, I renew my baptismal commitment to follow Christ more closely in the way I live my life.

Following the Carmelite spirit, made sacred by the prayerful search and prophetic zeal of Elijah the Prophet, founding spirit, I, (NN, speak your name) consecrate myself totally to God.

Following the example of Mary, our Sister in faith and the Lady of this place, I seek to live in Gods presence, be sensitive to the movements of Gods Spirit, and to enflesh and discover the living God in the people and experiences of my life.

Living under the brown scapular, the mantel of Mary, Our Lady of Mount Carmel, I promise to be a person of listening prayer, united with Gods family, the human community, and to serve others with Gospel simplicity and self-giving generosity. By the grace of the Holy Spirit, I will strive for perfect charity in the service of God and Gods people.

    Final Song: Flos Carmeli

Flos Carmeli, Flower of Carmel vitis florigera, Vine, blossom laden Splendor caeli, Splendor of heaven Virgo puerpera Virgin Mother of Gods Son Singularis Most special one Mater mitis; Gentle Mother sed viri nescia who knew not man Carmelitis You are esto propitia Carmels special blessing Stella Maris Star of the sea.

  • Prep of Gifts: I Sing A Maid

I sing a maid of tender years, to whom an angel came, and knelt, as to a mighty queen, and bowed his wings of flame: a nations hope in her reply, this maid of matchless grace; for Gods own Son became her child, and she his resting place.

She watched him grow to manhoods strength, to meet his desti-ny, and when the danger of his truth, brought him to Calvary; she stood by him all powerless to ease his dying pain, til in the darkest hour of all, she held her son again.

And if the song had ended then, our eyes would fill with tears, but ah! the song had just begun to echo down the years! Now lift your voices, hearts and souls, to sing with one accord: to honor Mary, Mother of the Christ, the Risen Lord!
