INFANT BAPTISMS For children under 7 years of age, the sacrament is celebrated the FIRST Sunday of the month at 2:00 pm. The parents must register in the parish office at least 4 weeks prior to the baptism. Both parents and godparents are expected to attend one catechetical session in advance, on the Wednesday before the baptism, at 7:00 pm.

SACRAMENTS OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION Before being fully initiated into the sacramental life of the Church, children over the age of 7 will need catechetical prepa-ration through the RCIC process. Teenagers and adults will par-ticipate in separate RCIA processes. CONFIRMATION and COMMUNION For those already baptized, preparation for these Sacraments will take place according to the person’s age and knowledge of the Catholic Faith. For further information contact the Office of Faith Formation Program.

MARRIAGES Couples should contact the parish office at least six months in advance to make the proper ar rangements for the Sacrament of Matrimony.

SCHEDULE FOR VETERANS DAY

On Sunday, November 11th is Veterans Day, this day we remember all the dedicated men and women who have served in our nation’s armed forces. This year Veteran’s Day will observed on Monday, November 12th. We will have both Masses at 7:00 AM and 8:30 AM. However, the church will be closed after the 8:30 A.M. Mass. The Rectory office will be closed all day. El Domingo, 11 de noviembre es el Día de los Veteranos, dia que recordamos a todos los hombres y muje-res dedicados que han servido en las fuerzas armadas de nuestra nación. Este año el Día de los Veteranos se celebrará el día lunes, 12 de noviembre. Habrá Misas a las 7 AM y 8:30 AM y la iglesia se cerrará después de la Misa de 8:30 AM. La oficina de la rectoría estará cerrada todo el día.

FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK

Dear Parishioners, When we look at decorations in November, we many times see pilgrims and Native Americans. We see pumpkins, corn and other signs of harvest. A harvest is a time to gather produce from the land that has been worked on to produce some yield or crops that help to sustain life. Possibly in the city, the gathering that is most commonly experienced is when we gather up the fallen leaves around our homes or in the streets. I think we all have had some experience of gathering up after some time, result or season. Harvesting is an important action not only for farmers but also spiritually for us as well. As we continue to move toward the closing of the church and secular year, we might ask what harvest have I worked to produce this year. A spiritual harvest of faith, hope and love is something that we can re-flect on as we prepare to gather for different occasions. Just as the time when pilgrims and Native Americans came together to give thanks and to receive the fruit of the harvest, we have the oppor-tunity to work together and give thanks for the blessings we receive. This Sunday we celebrate as a parish our annual International Food Festival. I think of it more as an International Parishioner Festival. I give thanks for the food but even more so for the time to come together and appreciate the gift of one another in the faith. Let us keep working for the harvest that is part of God’s Kingdom of love.

 DEL ESCRITORIO DEL PÁRROCO Queridos Feligreses: Cuando miramos las decoraciones en noviembre, muchas veces vemos peregrinos y nativos americanos. Vemos calabazas, maiz y otros signos de cosecha. Una cosecha es un momento para recolectar productos de la tierra en la que se ha trabajado para producir algún rendimiento o cul-tivos que ayuden a sostener la vida. Posiblemente en la ciudad, la reunión que se experimenta más comúnmente es cuando recogemos las hojas caídas alrededor de nuestras casas o en las calles. Creo que todos hemos tenido alguna experiencia de reunirnos después de algún tiempo, resultado o tem-porada. La cosecha es una acción importante no solo para los agricultores sino también espiritualmente para nosotros. Mientras continuamos avanzando hacia el cierre de la iglesia y el año secular, po-dríamos preguntarnos qué cosecha he trabajado para producir este año. Una cosecha espiritual de fe, esperanza y amor es algo en lo que podemos reflexionar mientras nos preparamos para re-unirnos en diferentes ocasiones. Al igual que en el momento en que los peregrinos y los nativos americanos se reunieron para dar gracias y recibir el fruto de la cosecha, tenemos la oportunidad de trabajar juntos y dar gracias por las bendiciones que recibimos. Este domingo celebramos como parroquia nuestro Festival Internacional de Comida anual. Lo considero más como un Festival Internacional de Feligreses. Doy las gracias por la comida, pero más aún por el tiempo de reunirnos y apreciar el don de los demás en la fe. Sigamos trabajando por la cosecha que es parte del Reino de amor de Dios.

There will be a meeting of all parish groups on November 28 at 7 PM in the Rectory to develop the parish calendar for January through June 2019. Each group is requested to forward their proposed dates for meeting and activities to the Rectory before November 14 and send a representative to the meeting on November 28.

Habrá reunión con todos los grupos parroquiales el 28 de noviembre a las 7 PM en la Rectoría para desarro-llar el calendario parroquial de enero a junio de 2019. Se solicita a cada grupo que envíe sus propuestas con

fechas de reuniones y actividades a la Rectoría antes del 14 de noviembre y envíen un representante a la reunión del 28 de noviembre.

THANKSGIVING DAY  

We invite all the families in our Parish to gather for our   Bilingual Thanksgiving Mass   

Thursday, November 22nd at 10 A.M.    

Thanksgiving Day is a special day when we celebrate “family unity.”  as Catholics,  we are encouraged by our Bishops to celebrate it with readings taken from the Mass  

“In Thanksgiving to God” found in the lec onary for Ritual Masses.  

This Eucharis c celebra on leads us in a deep sense of prayer, gra tude and joy. It reminds us to remember that our lives are a con nual thanksgiving through our daily ac vi es,  

which should give Glory to God.  

We invite all the families in our parish to gather at this Mass to give thanks to the Lord for all the blessings He has stowed on us. 

 

The collec on taken at this Mass will be divided between our Parish St. Vincent de Paul Society and Marguerite’s Pantry.

Invitamos a todas las familias de nuestra parroquia a

participar en nuestra Misa Bilingüe de Acción de Gracias el día Jueves, 22 de noviembre a las 10 A.M.

El Día de Acción de Gracias es un día especial en el que celebramos la "unidad familiar".

Como católicos, nuestros Obispos nos animan a celebrarlo con lecturas tomadas de la Misa "En acción de gracias a Dios" que se encuentra en el leccionario de las misas rituales.

Esta celebración eucarística nos guía en un profundo sentido de oración, gratitud y alegría.

Nos hace recorder que nuestras vidas son una acción de gracias contínua a través de nuestras actividades diarias, que deben dar la gloria a Dios.

Invitamos a todas las familias de nuestra parroquia a reunirse en esta misa para dar gracias al Señor por todas las bendiciones que Él nos ha otorgado.

La colecta tomada en esta Misa se dividirá entre nuestras Sociedades Parroquiales de San Vicente de Paúl y la Despensa de Margarita (despensa de los pobres).
