Irish Immigrants• Irish Immigrants lived in tenements that had

one bed and about four people in the house and they had one bathroom on each floor.

• People had to check the Irish (at Ellis Island) before they entered the United States.

United states they brought us St. Patrick’s Day. Irish were instrumental in the labor union movement.

• Many Irish immigrated to the USA because of the Potato Famine. There were many Irish starving in Ireland.

• The US represented a land of opportunity.

Chinese immigrants• Not all Chinese Immigrants

came into the United States until 1848 and they got a nick name from California called Gold Mountain. Also Chinese had American high fashion.

• -The Chinese Exclusion Act and the Chinese could not go to the United States until the act was over.
