What skills have you developed through this module and how effectively do you think you have applied them? This module has taught me how to manage my time effectively, as it was a time consuming process I had to make sure I had enough time to create, test and then address any problems. Quick idea development has also been a skill I have developed, not being too precious about my ideas and just trying whatever I could, if it was given to me as crit feedback I would try it, for example some one said I should try images, I did a quick test it didnʼt quite work, this quick process lead me to constantly redevelop my technique. This idea development process has really helped me deal with doing other work at the same time as this module, just being quick, and decisive. 2. What approaches to/methods of design production have you developed and how have they informed your design development process? I tired to take a different approach with my work, as my project was on films made around the 1950ʼs I didnʼt want to take a full on digital approach, I wanted to handmake a lot of the content, and create the motion effects manually. This approach helped me to realise that if you do want a certain effect to look handmade but for a digital medium then do it by hand and get it into digital. I used three different pieces of software for my process and multi-tasking and developing ideas across all three helped a great deal.

3. What strengths can you identify in your work and how have/will you capitalise on these? My work is very simple, and uses a simple idea done well, when I say well I mean that a lot of thought and practise has gone into the process. I was always trying to improve the quality of the visual with this project and I feel I have gotten the best result possible in terms of visual quality. I think a strength of this project is that I tried to address what motion graphics was, and push the boundaries which is what I am most pleased with, my project has its flaws but as a concept I think it stands out. 4. What weaknesses can you identify in your work and how will you address these in the future? My work can get repetitive in places and this was down to my lack of diversity in the visual, in the future I really want to try and push things and mix it up. My time management was good in this project but in terms of managing feedback and my blog I fell short on it, I also feel like I might have been too single-minded in my approach, thinking of an idea and really sticking with it right through all the criticisms. 5. Identify five things that you will do differently next time and what do you expect to gain from doing these? -I will storyboard my project completely and work out the visual difficulties before I start to test and design. -I will use a range of approaches to achieve the look I want rather than just sticking to a few. I need to explore my projects more and really test and try things out, get really involved. -Next project I want to begin to think about how it could relate to my professional practice in the future, and how it reflects me as a designer, this will help me to understand where I am and what I want to do. -This project really helped me to understand how I can use anything I can get my hands on to get the aesthetic that I want, its something that I want to really try and push next time, the method was really important to me and that is what I have found most beneficial and its helped to change me a lot as a designer. -Again and lastly method has become very important to me, if I had my time again on this project I would really try different methods and approaches to get the same effect rather than just trying the same basic method. Even though it worked I would have liked to improve on my method. I suppose this just comes to how much time I give my self in certain areas.

6.How would you grade yourself on the following areas: (please indicate using an ʻxʼ) 5= excellent, 4 = very good, 3 = good, 2 = average, 1 = poor 1 2 3 4 5 Attendance x Punctuality x Motivation x Commitment x Quantity of work produced x Quality of work produced x Contribution to the group x The evaluation of your work is an important part of the assessment criteria and represents a percentage of the overall grade. It is essential that you give yourself enough time to complete your written evaluation fully and with appropriate depth and level of self-reflection. If you have any questions relating to the self evaluation process speak to a member of staff as soon as possible.
