Old Redmond Schoolhouse Community CenterOverview

Rich in history, Old Redmond Schoolhouse (ORSCC) offers a unique old world charm to any event. Constructed of brick in 1922, ORSCC has been the focus of community activities for nearly 80 years. During its first half century, the school was the gathering place for holiday programs, dances, theatrical productions, annual carnivals and special events. Today, ORSCC maintains its tradition of serving the community. Renovated in 2000, ORSCC still retains its ambiance of days gone by, offering the Eastside a unique and informal atmosphere for any event.

ORSCC is conveniently located in the heart of Redmond with easy access to SR520 and just 20 miles east of downtown Seattle at the north end of Lake Sammamish. The City prides itself for its high quality of life with good schools, a healthy economic base, a parks system that provide a variety of active and passive recreational opportunities, diverse offerings for shopping and dining, safe neighborhoods, and an emphasis on quality development and protection of the natural environment.

Redmond is well known as a center of technology and the loca-tion for a number of nationally known high-tech and biomedical companies. Among these are Microsoft, Nintendo, AT&T Wireless, Space labs Medical, and Medtronic Physio-Control. Redmond Town Center, a large downtown retail center, offers numerous shops, restaurants, an eight-screen movie theater, special events, and live performances by a repertory theatre company and other arts-related groups.

Definition of Redmond Resident:Redmond residents are individuals and their families that live or work within Redmond City Limits. Proof of residency/employment is required. Work is defined as being cur-rently employed at least twenty (20) hours per week or more by a business or public agency located within the Redmond City Limits. Resident individuals, groups and organizations may schedule the RSC up to 15 months in advance. Non-Resident indi-viduals, groups, and organizations may schedule the RSC up to 12 months in advance.
