Orange Blossom Tour of the Sierra Foothills:

There are two opons this year: Try a sampling of our orangegroves and local foothills by pedaling the 20-mile Orange Tour, which provides one rest stop, SAG support, and a gourmet lunch, or go for the gusto and tackle the full 62-mile Metric Century. Whichever ride you choose, you can’t go wrong by enjoying our local beauty, hospitality, or food. Both Tours begin in the town of Lindsay and wind through green, rolling foothills and lush orange groves, where the fragrance of orange blossoms will ence you around the next bend to what might be revealed. This is a fully SAG-supported event and also provides rest stops along the way.

The 20 mile Orange Tour offers one rest stop in Frasier Valley near the route’s mid-way point. While the 20-mile route is significantly easier than the Metric Century, no compromises are made in ride beauty or experience.

The 62 mile Metric Century provides three rest stops and some of the finest scenery and pedaling around. Following the first rest stop in Frasier Valley, the Metric Tour leads you through gentle rolling hills and expansive, historic ranchlands, as you approach the base of the majesc, Sierra Nevada Mountains. The Tour next guides you along the meandering Tule River, to the quaint mountain town of Springville, famous for its annual Apple Fesval and Rodeo. While pedaling along the Tule River, a careful eye may reward you with a view of a deer or and eagle. Aer a break at the Springville Park, you will begin your ascent to the Blue Ridge saddle, the highest point of the Tour at 2,700 feet elevaon where you will be welcomed by your third rest stop and a magnificent, panoramic view of the Sierra NevadaMountains, the Yokohl Valley, and back toward Springville. Next, you will enjoy a long, rewarding descent through the beauful Yokohl Valley. Upon exing the Yokohl Valley, there is one more climb over a hill locally known as Capsu before beginning your descent and return to Lindsay and the McDermont Field House, a 172,000 square foot sports, recreaon, and entertainment facility. Once at McDermont Field House, parkyour bike indoors and enjoy a hot shower before partaking in gourmet sandwiches and homemade ice cream provided by the locally famous, Orange Works Café.
