Improve access to care for those most vulnerable, who are in need of extensive dental treatment. (Brenda Ledding, Carolyn Chu, Nancy Klebaum, Shirley Mathieson, Tammy Wilson) Support from Oral Health Coalition (OHC) members to advocate for vulnerable high needs clients. • Request Dental College to canvas licensed dentists for volunteers to provide dental work, in rural/remote locations (tax write off? Donation?) • Write letter/template to circulate to OHC members to consider submitting. • Propose to licensing body that the provision of a certain amount (X) of pro bono work for vulnerable populations be a requirement of licensure. • Propose a mobile dental care bus, modelled on the success of primary healthcare bus – to service rural and remote communities. Bus to be staffed by dental residents required to do a rural/remote practicum.

Building Health Equities will endeavour to ensure all children receive fluoride varnish. Health Bus – Betty will approach Vicki Smart about having dental services provided in bus. In schools, encourage teachers to have students make small storage pots for their toothbrush & paste, and have children brush first thing in the morning. Approach school systems regarding this. Street Health: look at ways to provide education and services to improve oral health through detox and or treatment when people are thinking of making lifestyle changes
