Open book tests are usually harder than than if it is a closed book test
Spend an equal or greater amount of time preparing as you would for a normal test
Familiarize yourself with the book and relevant materials
If allowed, write down all the formulas and key information on a separate piece of paper so you don’t have to search for information

Focus on learning the main ideas and get a feel for where they are located in the book
Highlight important points, use post it notes, book marks and make notes with pencil in your book, if allowed
Bring all the items that a teacher allows Answer the easy questions that you know off the
top of your head first and then go back and answer the questions where you need to reference your book

When answering short answer and essay questions use quotes from the book
Note, don’t over quote and be sure to give your insight and commentary
