OnRamp goes beyond simple colocation to act as true data center partner.

Advanced Solutions International (ASI) is a solutions provider that focuses on helping associations and not-for-profits increase operational and financial performance by delivering an Engagement Management System (EMS)™ called iMIS20. Using this innovative solution, organizations can engage members, donors, and other constituents anytime, anywhere and from any device to conduct fundraising activities, social engagement and more.

Since 1991, ASI has served nearly 4,000 clients and millions of users worldwide, both directly and indirectly through a network of over 100 partners, and currently maintains corporate offices in the US, UK, Canada, and Australia.

When Advanced Solutions International made the decision to relocate their Austin offices to another part of town, the company was relying on an on-premise server room and in-house IT staff to maintain their development and software quality assurance resources, which was a pivotal component for the delivery of their customized SaaS solutions. ASI originally desired to migrate this environment over to their new Austin office in order to maintain complete control. However, due to power density limitations, scalability limitations and limitations of other

resources necessary to ensure high availability of the environment, ASI began their search for a data center partner that could accommodate their needs. Beyond these key necessities, ASI also wanted to work with a colocation partner that was able to step in at a moment's notice to eliminate some of the burden on their IT staff. As a result, the partner they would choose would need experience beyond what they were finding was typical of most colocation providers, who focused only on the most basic tasks beyond the network layer. To be successful, ASI needed a partner who could truly supplement the capabilities of their IT staff and complete

“To enable adequate power, cooling, physical and logical protection and connectivity from multiple Tier I Internet backbone providers over a fully meshed network, would be both costly and difficult to replicate in-house; by working with OnRamp, we are afforded all this and more.”

Based on the requirements for a secure colocation facility, with ample power and bandwidth connectivity, as well as their desire to work with a partner that could provide in-depth support, ASI chose to work with OnRamp. "To enable adequate power, cooling, physical and logical protection and connectivity from multiple Tier I Internet backbone providers over a fully meshed network, would be both costly and difficult to replicate in-house; by working with OnRamp, we are afforded all this and more," said Ben Gray, Network Operations Manager with ASI. Gray went on to elaborate, "Everything that OnRamp does from the physical infrastructure standpoint, we don't think about, because we are confident in knowing it's in their hands."

Aside from this, it was OnRamp's experience in providing various other data center services, including private clouds, disaster recovery and other cloud delivered services that made them well equipped to assist with ASI's IT support needs. OnRamp’s engineers are available on-site and on-demand 24/7/365 to deliver what they call Full7Layer Support. This enables them to assist colocation customers where they need it most: inside the rack. OnRamp’s Full7Layer Support goes above the network layer to help with anything and everything, from racking and stacking new equipment, to monitoring or repairing

it on an ongoing basis. The fact that such deeply experienced OnRamp engineers are always available is especially important to colocation customers who can call on OnRamp's team for everything from routine maintenance to simply providing eyes or hands on their equipment if it is needed.

"Of the six global colocation sites our business operates, OnRamp is among the top when it comes to the technical competency of their NOC staff," said Gray. "Not only can they take specific instructions from me or the other

members of my team, but they can troubleshoot and remediate issues just as well." Since forming a partnership in 2006, ASI has taken advantage of several benefits in working with OnRamp. In addition to meeting their physical and technical requirements and being able to assist with everything from cable runs to configurations and more complex tasks, it was OnRamp's deep-rooted culture of putting the customer first that has made for a lasting relationship with ASI. "Over the years, OnRamp has done a stellar job at staying current with data center industry best practices, constantly evolving technology and solutions to assist ASI in meeting our IT objectives," stated Gray. "But despite their growth as a business they have never wavered in the level of support they provide our company. It is such a benefit to be able to pick up the phone or shoot an email

knowing in full confidence that we will be taken care of in a timely and efficient manner. Through our work with various other colocation providers, we know this all too uncommon and that's why we place such a high value on our relationship with OnRamp."
