Governor Ducey announced on Thursday, April 29 that the Stay-at-home order has been ex-tended until May 15 with some modifications. A few key points include:May 4 Voluntary partial reopen-ing of retail by appointment only, pick/delivery.May 8 Voluntary reopening of retail expanded. Fitting rooms stay closed and reduce occupancy/capacity.May 12 Best case scenario for reopening restaurants. Staff would wear masks and inform guests they’ve just washed their hands. These are the options at this time but if you are uncom-fortable with going out, then please stay safe at home. As for me I have discovered masks to be a new fash-ion accessory and wear one whenever I am in a public building or areas. Hang in there! REAL ID Deadline ExtendedKen Foote, owner of Footework shared the fol-lowing with us from the Transportation Secu-rity Administration.

“Due to circumstances resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic and the national emergency declaration, the Department of Home-land Security, as directed by President Donald J. Trump, is extending the REAL ID enforcement deadline beyond the current October 1, 2020 deadline. I have determined that states require a twelve-month delay and that the new deadline for REAL ID enforcement is October 1, 2021. DHS will publish a notice of the new deadline in the Federal Register in the coming days.

“The federal, state and local response to the spread of the Coronavirus here in the United States necessitates a delay in this deadline. Our state and local partners are working tirelessly with the Administration to flat-ten the curve and, therefore, we want to remove any impediments to response and recovery efforts. States across the country are temporarily closing or restricting access to DMVs. This action will preclude millions of people from applying for and receiving their REAL ID. Extending the deadline will also allow the Department to work with Congress to implement needed changes to expedite the issuance of REAL IDs once the current health crisis concludes.“Protecting both the health and national security of the American people continues to be the top priority for the President of the United States and the Department of homeland Security.”FooteWork Auto License & Title Service is committed to helping our valued and loyal customers with their motor vehicle work. FooteWork is accepting drop offs and mail-in work, rather than letting people into the building, pursuant to the COVID-19 restrictions. We, along with all other MVD providers around the state, are also faced with a new software change which has slowed productivity down significantly. The state has made numerous changes with this new system, including the inability of pro-viding paper titles. The new MVD system now only allows a digital title. We are committed to helping everyone resolve their title and registration concerns as quickly as possible.Due to the new state-wide changes, as well as the COVID-19 situation, we are working limited hours and with limited staff, so the patience and understanding we’ve experienced is greatly appreciated.
