Identify and maintain the optimal state for clear communication

Create conditions for high levels of engagement and interaction

Analyse situations that are not conducive to effective communication

This module will be of value to anyone seeking to improve their communication skills. Participants firstly understand their communication preference through the DISC communication framework. Participants will learn to understand other peoples communication preferences and filters to find a way to engage with clear messages. They will learn to listen with empathy, explore how to positively influence others and build rapport through mutual understanding.

Participants will be introduced to models and tools that are accessible and relevant to their everyday communications. They will develop intrapersonal and interpersonal skills that will equip them to work with the different pressures within the myriad forms of communication.

Develop a balance between assertiveness and curiosity that is conducive to mutual understanding and conflict resolution

Learn to minimise the ‘threat state’ of conflict and maximise the ‘reward state’ of human connection

Develop skills to keep cool under pressure

2Working Successfully with ConflictConflict occurs in all projects and teams however, the difference between healthy and unhealthy conflict, is not whether it exists, rather how effectively it is managed. This module uncovers the myths around conflict and replaces them with a clear understanding of its necessary role in the work environment.

Participants will learn how to communicate effectively within the generational segments using tools that will help them navigate in even the most complex situations. Principles and tools of the social brain, moving from a threat situation to a reward situation will be unpacked and explored through relevant simulations.

In this module participants will gain a clear understanding of their behavioural patterns to conflict and learn to keep cool under pressure. Participants will learn the skills of keeping above the line to be responsible, responsive, open and honest in their communication at all times.

Explore the different generations and their preferred approach to work, teams, leadership and communication

Learn how to manage the different generations

Deepen the understanding of the importance of engaging with others authentically

In this module participants will understand and appreciate that members of a generation share a similar approach to work, lifestyle and communication, stemming from the environment in which they were raised. Miscommunication and conflict can occur between the generations due to a lack of understanding and appreciation. This module will give participants a clear understanding of their own generational preference as well as the preference of other generations.

Participants will learn communication tools to ensure that they can effectively manage and communicate with different generations. Overall, this module will explore the difference between the generations to understand how to leverage off the differences and foster successful teams and productive projects.

Explore the four well-springs as resources of human energy

Learn how the brain forms habits and understand the importance of developing energy habits rather than one off techniques

Identify and overcome barriers to effectively manage time and energy

Being time and energy efficient will enable us to achieve our best performance in the workplace. This module enables participants to identify the key areas and resources they have control over in order to manage their energy and work smarter.

Participants will identify time and energy wasters in order to gain greater control over their attention and focus. They will learn to organise their time effectively by understanding the science behind the brain and its efficiency throughout the day. Participants will learn to identify and prioritise tasks, activities, objectives and goals for better performance. They will learn about the Healthy Mind Platter in order to perform consistently day-to-day.

Learn and apply critical and creative thinking techniques to create innovative solutions

Apply the RED model to recognise assumptions, evaluate arguments and draw conclusions

Explore the notion of divergent and convergent thinking

Productive thinking is a vital skill in the competitive industries of construction, mining, civil and development. Participants will firstly undertake a critical thinking assessment that identifies their strengths and weaknesses in the areas of recognising assumptions, evaluating arguments and drawing conclusions. After deconstructing the feedback from the assessment, participants will be able to develop their skills through applied simulations.

This module provides participants with the opportunity to apply tools of critical and creative thinking for effective solutions. Participants will understand the importance and process of creative thinking and collaboration and reach solutions thinking and problem solving for productive outcomes.
