Studies has developed Fast-Track—a group of 12-month format
graduate degree programs that fit your lifestyle and goals.
If you have a bachelor’s degree and some work experience, you
can now earn your master’s degree from a prestigious institution
at a reasonable tuition in just one year. Fast-Track programs
are presented in a unique format, in which all coursework is
completed with the same group of students.

programs are offered in one of two formats—
On-Campus or Online—each providing

The Convenience of Fast-TrackFast-Track programs have been designed for your
optimum convenience, allowing you to focus on what’s
most important—your studies. The Fast-Track staff guides
you through the application process, registers you for your
classes, and advises you throughout your academic career.
Tuition for the On-Campus Fast-Track programs includes all
textbooks and materials as well as breakfast and lunch during
Saturday classes. (Meals and textbooks are not provided for
Online format programs.) The tuition cost of each term varies
depending on the number of credits required for that term. See
individual degree program descriptions for details on tuition cost.

purpose,* and two letters of recommendation** are

*A statement of purpose should discuss your interests, background, educational goals, and how the program will be of value to you.
**Recommendation letters should be written by supervisors (or higher) who have worked with you, or college faculty (or higher) who have experienced your educational growth.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q | How do students qualify for Fast-Track programs?
A | Students must have earned a bachelor’s degree from an
accredited school and have some work experience. A minimum
GPA of 2.8 is strongly recommended for successful performance.
Those who are unable to meet a 2.8 GPA will be evaluated
by program administration on a case by case basis. Our
flexible admissions policy takes into consideration all aspects
of a student’s preparation, experience, and educational
goals. Graduate admissions exams, such as the GRE, are
not required.
Q | What is the tuition fee?
A | For On-Campus Programs: Tuition for On-Campus format
programs is $568 per quarter hour. The cost for each term will vary
depending on the number of credits required for that term. Typical
terms require 10-12 quarter hours credit. The tuition includes
the cost of books and meals on the days of in-class meetings. This
tuition rate is confirmed for the 2009-2010 academic year.
For Online Programs: Tuition for Online format programs is $514
per quarter hour. The cost for each term will vary depending
on the number of credits required for that term. Typical terms
require 10-12 quarter hours credit. The tuition for online courses
does not include textbooks or meals. Students will purchase their
textbooks through the online bookstore. This tuition rate is
confirmed for the 2009-2010 academic year.
Q | Can you describe the class structure?
A | For On-Campus Programs: You will meet in the classroom on
alternating Saturdays from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm for a one year
period. For your convenience, breakfast and lunch are included

as part of the tuition rate. The remainder of the class
work will be completed online. Instructors will be with
you in the classroom as well as online.
For Online Programs: There is no designated class
meeting time for the online classes. Using the Blackboard
online system, the instructor will present lectures, post
discussion questions, and assignments.
Q | What is the workload like?
A | The workload each quarter will be significant.
Students typically carry 10-12 quarter hours. You will have
assigned readings, papers, projects, presentations and
online work to complete throughout each term. Your
participation during the online components is critical to
your success in the program.
Q | What computer and technology requirements
are needed for Fast-Track programs?
A | In order to participate in the online portion of the
program, students must have access to a minimum of:
Platform: n PC (Windows 2000/XP/Vista) n Mac (10.2, 10.3, 10.4, 10.5)
Hardware: n 128 MB of RAM n 2 GB of free disk space n Sound card with speakers (for courses
with multimedia) n Ethernet or Wireless network card
(for high-speed Internet connection) or 56K modem (for dial-up Internet connection)
n T1, DSL, Cable, or Satellite high-speed connection (56K dial-up will work, but the online course system will run slowly).
Q | What types of instructors teach Fast-Track?
A | The instructor team includes both full-time faculty
from the University, as well as leading practitioners in
the areas of leadership, communications, and project
management. They are committed to your success and
are dedicated to the program.
Q | Am I eligible for financial aid?
A | As a Fast-Track student, you will be enrolled as a
full-time student of Northeastern University, and will
qualify to apply for financial aid. For further information
go to: www.northeastern.edu/cps. Scholarships are also
available for select programs.
Q | How often do new programs begin?
A | Start dates are typically scheduled for September,
January, and April of an academic year. If you intend
to apply, please have all of your documents submitted
one month prior to the program start date, so we
may evaluate your credentials and reserve your space
in class.
Q | How do I apply?
A | All applicants must submit the following:
Application for Admission: You can apply online at
www.northeastern.edu/cps/admisssions/apply-online.
Statement of Purpose: Write a 500- to 1,000-word statement
of purpose that identifies your educational goals and
expectations of the program.
Current Resume: Required of all applicants.
Academic Transcripts: Admission to any graduate
program requires satisfactory completion of a
baccalaureate degree at an accredited U.S. university
or its equivalent. Submit official bachelor’s degree
bearing transcript and any post-baccalaureate
transcripts.
