Participating Organisations:

The "Silk Road Economic Belt" and "21st Century Maritime Silk Road" together encompass over 60 countries across Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Launched by President Xi Jinping in 2013, and brought together under the title of “One Belt, One Road”, the project aims to integrate the development strategies of countries along the route. There will be exciting new commercial opportunities in the short, medium and long term. Great potential exists for powerful partnerships between British and Chinese companies not just in China but in countries along the routes.

This is a chance for Yorkshire’s businesses, trade and commercial associations, and public sector organisations to learn about what One Belt, One Road means, what its aims are and what opportunities it creates, from a group of authoritative and highly knowledgeable speakers including a group from the Chinese Embassy and the Consulate in Manchester. It is also a chance for Yorkshire to show its strengths and build relationships with China. The Chinese visitors will be looking to develop ties in particular with Gansu Province, which is a mainly agricultural region of China on the One Belt, One Road route. This is therefore of particular interest to businesses in agricultural technology and supplies, and environmental technology, as well as infrastructure construction, transport and tourism.
