Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise

partook of the same things, that through death he might destroy the

one who has the power of death, that is, the devil, 15  and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery

Hebrews 2:14-15

Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord, nor of me his prisoner, but share in suffering for the gospel by the power of God, 9

who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own

purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began, 10  and which now

has been manifested through the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who abolished death and

brought life and immortality to light through the gospel, 11  for which I was appointed a preacher and apostle and teacher, 12  which is why I suffer as I do. But I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed, and I am convinced that he is able to guard until that Day what has been entrusted

to me.

2 Timothy 1:8-12

If the whole body were an eye, where would be the sense of hearing? If the whole body were an ear, where would be the sense of

smell? But as it is, God arranged the members in the body, each one of them, as

he chose. If all were a single member, where would the body be? As it is, there are

many parts, yet one body. The eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you,” nor again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.” On the contrary, the parts of

the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable…

1 Corinthians 12:17-26

…and on those parts of the body that we think less honorable we bestow the

greater honor, and our un-presentable parts are treated with greater modesty,

which our more presentable parts do not require. But God has so composed the body, giving greater honor to the part that lacked it, that there may be no

division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another. If one member suffers, all

suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together.
