ON MONET'S EXHIBITION-STUTTGART 2006 22nd August, 2006.  What a pleasant day it was today! For the second time I visited the Monets ehi"ition in the #tate $allery o% #tuttgart. I once more had the chance to admire some o% the words o% the French great master. &ne thing I really en'oy is that o% Monet s o"session o% repeating the same moti% in di%%erent light and(or cl imat ic condit io ns an d some ti me s %rom sl ight ly di %%e re nt viewpoint. In this way I thin) the moti% *or the theme, i% you  pre%er+ ta)es a distinctive identity under various lighting and weather conditions.*sunshine, mist ,rain, sunset, midday. etc.+,it change s di me nsions and mood and "ecomes alive wi th colour vi"rations that sha)e the atmosphere around it. In this respect the human mind moves %urther a%ield into adventurous possi"ilities o% creations within the "oundaries o% a given %orm which provides the cornerstone o% the idea o% the initial inspiration. A ma ny academic thin) that the Monets canvases o% the -ouen athed ral is the ultimate and pro"a "ly the uni/u e eample o% the idea o% eploring the light and shadow o% the %orm he colour schemes and the su"se/uent com"inations, as mastered "y Monets ingenuity "rings along a num"er o% variations, so in each occasion the same moti% appears in a a new dress radiating a range o% moods and %eelings.

%or the years to come .he 1aystac) at hiverny is a %estival o%

light and shadow. he well "alanced composition "rings the viewer

straight and without the slightest hesitation into the scene and

into the activities o% the people there. It is the children playing

around in the %ield. It is the lady holding the red um"rella protecting hersel% %rom the power%ul sunshine. .It is the two

haystac)s the one nearest to the viewer ,as the main theme, and

the other ,in the mid ground, "oth glowing with light and rested on

their own colour%ul shadows .It is the trees in the "ac)ground and

the unseen trees on the le%t casting their shadows hal% across the

%ield. It is all these that ma)e the "est possi"le %rame %or the eye to

wander and play with "oth people and nature.

8oy, light and shadow emerging,From the haystac) 'umping out

In the air to em"race the children

And play with them and clim" up the trees

And then step slowly down to rest

on the warm earth.
