Miss Brenda Kay Kight and James Michael English wereu- nited in marriage at 7:30 p. m. on December 12th at Memorial Baptist Church in Aiken, S. C. in a candle light service. Rev. Clinton Henderson officiated at the double ring ceremony. Mr. and Mrs. Harry G. Kight are the brides parents and the groom is the son Mr. and Mrs. Henry C. English, Jr. of Clin- ton, S. C. The grooms father served as best man. Ushers were Don Bridgers, brother-in-law of the bride and Larry Summers. Mrs. Colleen Bridgers, sis- ter of the bride, and Miss Dora Seigler were matron and maid of honor. Their gowns were red satin brocade with short, set in sleeves. The princess lines were accented with streamers and bows of red velvet ribbon. Their headpeices were of matching bows of red velvet ribbon topped with circletts of red net. They carried nosegays of silver tipped white mums set in holly and tied with ribbons of red velvet. Miss Carol English, sister of the groom, was bridesmaid. Misses Brenda and Donna Brid- gers, neices of the bride, were junior bridesmaid and flower girl. Their dresses and bouquets were identical to those of the honor attendants. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor length gown of candle light peau de soie and Alencon lace. The gown, created by the brides mother, featured the empire look with self belt and train length bow, long fitted lace sleeves ending in a ruffles of scalloped lace. The stand up collar was set with seed pearls, outlining the lace designs. Tiny satin covered buttons compli- mented the inverted pleat which ended in a chapel length train. The brides elbow length bouffant veil was attched to dou- ble bows of peau do soie, et with pearls. Her bouquet was a Juliet cascade of white rose buds. A reception followed immedi- ately in the churchs social hall. Assisting with the servingwere Misses Susan Fox, Judy Seigler, Charlotte Smith and Diedra Ho- ward. Miss Carol Ann Horres kept the brides book. Following their wedding trip the couple will make their home in New Orleans, La. Following the rehearsal, the members of the wedding party and friends were entertained with a dinner given in Aiken by the parents of the groom, Mr. and Mrs. Henry C. English Jr. of Clinton. ui .u* Miss Fryfogle Entertained Friends and relatives of Miss Pat Fryfogle and Dan Hartley, who were married on Sunday, December 27th. at 8:00 oclock in the evening, entertained in their honor prior to their wed- ding. On Saturday, following the rehearsal, Mr. and Mrs. Peyton Hartley, of Mount Pleasant, pa- rents of the bridegroom, enter- tained the wedding party and a number of out of town guests at a lovely dinner at The Mus- grove Inn. The tables were beautifully decorated in Christ- mas colors. Mementos of the happy occasion were given by the bride and bridegroom to their attendants. Later that evening the young couple washonoredwithadance at the Lakeside Country Club, where hundreds of their friends from far and near gathered to wish them well. A roaring fire in the huge stone fireplace wel- comed the guests into the fes- tively decorated hall and deli- cious refreshments were served. Hosts for the party were Dr. and Mrs. George Bla- lock, Miss Kathryn Dicus, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hamer, Mr. and Mrs. Ferd bs, Jr., Dr. and Mrs. Rufus Sadler, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Turner and Mrs. Cecil Wilson. On Sunday, Dr. Andy Wallar, of Greenville, uncle of the bride, invited the wedding party to breakfast at The Wilson House. The bridal table was especially beautiful with candles and a floral centerpiece of pink and white carnations. The dining room and den were filled with flowers. Dr. Wallar presented gifts to the young couple and toasts were made for their hap- piness. During the afternoon, Mr. and Mrs. Rawlinson Martin had open house for other out of town guests. Following the wedding at 8:00 oclock, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Fryfogle, parents of the bride, gave a reception at the Lake- side Country Club. Guests were welcomed by a cheery fire. There was no formal receiving line, but friends were greeted by the host and hostess, and Mr. and Mrs. Peyton Hartley, parents of the bridegroom, as- sisted by Mr. and Mrs. Claude Crocker, Mrs. Edward Fer- guson, Mr. and Mrs. FredHol- come, II, Mr. and Mrs. Tho- mas Stokes, and Dr. and Mrs. Carl W'essinger. The brides aunt, Mrs. John Cocke, and her daughter, Mrs. Herbert Cherry, of Wickliffe, Kentucky, presided over the punch bowl. The wed- ding cake was served by Mrs. James P. Coleman and Mrs. Eugene Brigham, of Greenville, also by Mrs. George Blalock and Mrs. Robert Hamer. The guest register was kept by Mrs. Ho- race Horton and Mrs. George Huguley. Helping with the re- freshments were MissMaraiidy Craft, of Winnsboro, cousin of the bridegroom, Miss Karen Wessinger and Miss Claire Turner. Family Dinner Given Saturday Mrs. H.S. A daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Ezell Baikham of Fair Drive, the bride is employed at Community Cash Grocery Store. The groom, also employed at Community Cash, is a son of Mr. and Mrs. William Millard Ginn of Whitmire Highway. Mrs. Frank Medlin was mat- ron of honor. After an enjoyable supper, some guests won de- lightful gifts. Miss Patricia Margaret Fry- fogle became the bride of Dan- iel Peyton Hartley, II, in a double ring, candlelight cere- mony at 8:00 oclock in the evening in the First Presbyte- rian Church, Clinton, Sunday, December 27th. Reverend Ralph M. Byrd, of Charleston, per- formed the ceremony. Wedding music was presented by Mr. Benjamin Hutto, also of Char- leston. The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Evans Fry- fogle, of Merrie Oaks, was given in marriage by her father. Mr. Hartley is the son on Mr. and Mrs. Peyton Carsten Hart- ley, of Mount Pleasant. Miss Marilyn McRae Fryfo- gle, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. She wore a bright green crepe formal fa- shioned with an empire bodice accented by a silver and gold braided belt. The back of the dress featured a graceful panel falling from the shoulders. She carried an old fashioned bouquet of holly, tied with golo and silver rope. In her hair she wore an arrangement of holly. The bridesmaids, similarly attired, were Miss Alice Ran- dolph Hartley, of M'Xint Plea- sant, sister of the groom; Mrs. Robert Mann Hartley, of Char- lotte, N.C., sister-in-law ofthe groom; and Miss Angelina Mah- lon Painter, of Greenwich, Conn., the brides college roommate. The groom was attended by his father as best man. Groomsmen included Robert Mann Hartley, of Charlotte, brother of the groom; Fred Craft, Jr., of Smithfield, N.C., cousin of the groom; Robert Meek Hope, of Union; James Graham Padgett, of Columbia; and Bissell Jenkins Witte, of Mount Pleasant. Senior ushers were Dr. Durrand Wallar, of Greenville, uncle of the bride; Mr. Fred Craft, Sr. of Winns- boro, uncle of the groom; Mr. Henry Schatz, of Charlotte, un- cle of the groom; and Dr. Ja- mes Edwards, of Charleston. The bride wore a gown de- signed by Priscilla of Boston, featuring an empire bodice of beige Alencon lace with high neckline and bracelet length sleeves. The full skirt with built in chapel train was candlelight satin. Her bouffant, chapel len- gth veil was of silk illusion at- tached to a small bandeau of lace embroidered with seed pearls. She carried a traditional bouquet of white roses, step- hanotis and miniature English ivy. Mrs. Fryfogle , the brides mother, wore a formal gown of green crepe, accented at the neckline and bodice with jewels. Mrs. Hartley, mother of the groom, wore a formal dress of gold brocade. Both mothers wore orchid corsages. The santuary was decorated with magnolia leaves and other Christmas evergreens. White candles adorned the choir rail- ing. On either side of the alter were brass candelabra als'ide- corated with magnolia leaves and ivy. The family pews were marked by small candelabra a- domed with holly and magnolia leaves. Following the ceremony, the brides parents were hosts at a reception at the Lakeside Country Club. The bride attended Mary Baldwin College, Staunton, Vir- ginia, and was graduated fr"m Emory University in Atlanta. She is a Psychological Evalua- tor with the Division of Special Services of the Charleston Co- unty Schools System. Mr. Hartley attended Pres- byterian College where he was a member of Kappa Alpha <)r- der. Presently lie is a student in the School of Dental Medicine of the Medical University ! South Carolina. After a wedding trip to New- Orleans and Atlanta, Mr. and Mrs. Hartley will be at home at Charleston, South Carolina. Christmas Theme For B&PW Meet Traditional Christmas music, food, decorations, and gifts fir others, dominated the Iieeem- ber meetingof the Clint n Busi- ness and Professional w mens Club. The Program Chairman f r the evening, Mrs. G. Connor, 1-ed the groups singing of fa- miliar carols, and playing re- sonator bells. She also directed the mem- bers in making angel favurs for the negro patients of the Nursing Home. Gifts for the S.C. Mental pa- tients were collected. The Clubs Christmas Tree was placed in the Bailey Memo- rial Nursing Home. Members of the Thornwell High Beta Club made the ornaments and deco- rated it. Christmas cards and mes- sages from state B & PW of- ficers and friends were shared by Club members. Mrs. Connor, chairman, and her Membership Committee were congratulated for their membership report. The local group reported winner in Dis- trict IV, percentagewise. WCTU Meets The W. C. T. U. will meet Tuesday afternoon, January 5 at the home of Mrs. Thomas P. Owens on Musgrove Street. The meeting will begin at 3:30 Co-hostess with Mrs. Owens will be Miss Mary Lizzie O- wens. During the afternoon, Mr. and Mrs. Rawlinson Martin had open house for other out of town guests.

Following the wedding at 8:00 o’clock, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Fryfogle, parents of the bride, gave a reception at the Lake­side Country Club. Guests were welcomed by a cheery fire. There was no formal receiving line, but friends were greeted by the host and hostess, and Mr. and Mrs. Peyton Hartley, parents of the bridegroom, as­sisted by Mr. and Mrs. Claude Crocker, Mrs. Edward Fer­guson, Mr. and Mrs. FredHol- come, II, Mr. and Mrs. Tho­mas Stokes, and Dr. and Mrs. Carl W'essinger. The bride’s aunt, Mrs. John Cocke, and her daughter, Mrs. Herbert Cherry, of Wickliffe, Kentucky, presided over the punch bowl. The wed­ding cake was served by Mrs. James P. Coleman and Mrs. Eugene Brigham, of Greenville, also by Mrs. George Blalock and Mrs. Robert Hamer. The guest register was kept by Mrs. Ho­race Horton and Mrs. George Huguley. Helping with the re­freshments were MissMaraiidy Craft, of Winnsboro, cousin of the bridegroom, Miss Karen Wessinger and Miss Claire Turner.

Family Dinner Given Saturday

Mrs. H.S. Eichelberger en­tertained with a family dinner on Saturday. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Kent Krell of Columbia and their three children, Katharyne, George and Ursula, the Rev. and Mrs. H.L. Eichelberger of Hender­sonville, N.C. and their four children, Sandra, Julia, Anne and Lee, Dr. and Mrs. John Eichelberger of Charleston and their two daughters, Laurie and Bonny and Miss Barbara Eic­helberger of Columbia.

Balkham-Ginn Ceremony HeldMiss Linda Diane Baikham

became the bride of Cecil Wil­liam Ginn Saturday, December 19 at 8 p.m. in a candlelight ceremony at Calvery Baptist Church in Clinton.

A daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Ezell Baikham of Fair Drive, the bride is employed at Community Cash Grocery Store.

The groom, also employed at Community Cash, is a son of Mr. and Mrs. William Millard Ginn of Whitmire Highway.

Mrs. Frank Medlin was mat­ron of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Libby Broom of Laurens and Miss Kathy Ginn and Miss Patricia Ginn, the groom’s sis­ters.

The groom’s father served as best man. Ushers were Roger Ginn, the groom’s brother; Dennis Baikham, the bride’s brother, end Kelly King.

Miss Patricia Margaret Fry­fogle became the bride of Dan­iel Peyton Hartley, II, in a double ring, candlelight cere­mony at 8:00 o’clock in the evening in the First Presbyte­rian Church, Clinton, Sunday, December 27th. Reverend Ralph M. Byrd, of Charleston, per­formed the ceremony. Wedding music was presented by Mr. Benjamin Hutto, also of Char­leston.

The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Evans Fry­fogle, of Merrie Oaks, was given in marriage by her father. Mr. Hartley is the son on Mr. and Mrs. Peyton Carsten Hart­ley, of Mount Pleasant.

Miss Marilyn McRae Fryfo­gle, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. She wore a bright green crepe formal fa­shioned with an empire bodice accented by a silver and gold braided belt. The back of the dress featured a graceful panel falling from the shoulders. She carried an old fashioned bouquet of holly, tied with golo and silver rope. In her hair she wore an arrangement of holly.

The bridesmaids, similarly attired, were Miss Alice Ran­dolph Hartley, of M'Xint Plea­sant, sister of the groom; Mrs. Robert Mann Hartley, of Char­lotte, N.C., sister-in-law ofthe groom; and Miss Angelina Mah- lon Painter, of Greenwich, Conn., the bride’s college roommate.

The groom was attended by his father as best man. Groomsmen included Robert Mann Hartley, of Charlotte, brother of the groom; Fred Craft, Jr., of Smithfield, N.C., cousin of the groom; Robert Meek Hope, of Union; James Graham Padgett, of Columbia; and Bissell Jenkins Witte, of Mount Pleasant. Senior ushers were Dr. Durrand Wallar, of Greenville, uncle of the bride; Mr. Fred Craft, Sr. of Winns­boro, uncle of the groom; Mr. Henry Schatz, of Charlotte, un­cle of the groom; and Dr. Ja­mes Edwards, of Charleston.

The bride wore a gown de­signed by Priscilla of Boston, featuring an empire bodice of beige Alencon lace with high neckline and bracelet length sleeves. The full skirt with built in chapel train was candlelight satin. Her bouffant, chapel len­gth veil was of silk illusion at­tached to a small bandeau of lace embroidered with seed pearls. She carried a traditional bouquet of white roses, step- hanotis and miniature English ivy.

Mrs. Fryfogle , the bride’s mother, wore a formal gown of green crepe, accented at the neckline and bodice with jewels. Mrs. Hartley, mother of the groom, wore a formal dress of gold brocade. Both mothers wore orchid corsages.

The santuary was decorated with magnolia leaves and other Christmas evergreens. White candles adorned the choir rail­ing. On either side of the alter

were brass candelabra als'ide­corated with magnolia leaves and ivy. The family pews were marked by small candelabra a- domed with holly and magnolia leaves.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents were hosts at a reception at the Lakeside Country Club.

The bride attended Mary Baldwin College, Staunton, Vir­ginia, and was graduated fr"m Emory University in Atlanta. She is a Psychological Evalua­tor with the Division of Special Services of the Charleston Co­unty Schools System.

Mr. Hartley attended Pres­byterian College where he was a member of Kappa Alpha <)r- der. Presently lie is a student in the School of Dental Medicine of the Medical University ! South Carolina.

After a wedding trip to New- Orleans and Atlanta, Mr. and Mrs. Hartley will be at home at Charleston, South Carolina.

Christmas Theme For B&PW Meet

Traditional Christmas music, food, decorations, and gifts fir others, dominated the Iieeem- ber meetingof the Clint n Busi­ness and Professional w men’s Club.

The Program Chairman f r the evening, Mrs. G. Connor, 1-ed the groups singing of fa­miliar carols, and playing re­sonator bells.

She also directed the mem­bers in making angel favurs for the negro patients of the Nursing Home.

Gifts for the S.C. Mental pa­tients were collected.

The Club’s Christmas Tree was placed in the Bailey Memo­rial Nursing Home. Members of the Thornwell High Beta Club made the ornaments and deco­rated it.

Christmas cards and mes­sages from state B & PW of­ficers and friends were shared by Club members.

Mrs. Connor, chairman, and her Membership Committee were congratulated for their membership report. The local group reported winner in Dis­trict IV, percentagewise.

WCTU Meets

The W. C. T. U. will meet Tuesday afternoon, January 5 at the home of Mrs. Thomas P. Owens on Musgrove Street.

The meeting will begin at 3:30 Co-hostess with Mrs. Owens will be Miss Mary Lizzie O- wens.
