A Message from the President
This year, I am honored to usher in the
50th anniversary of Bladen Community
College.
In 1967, Bladen Technical Institute was
established by the North Carolina General
Assembly.
Classes were offered in basic education,
business, secretarial science, nursing, and
welding, and were held in Elizabethtown
Baptist Church’s education building,
a former farm chemicals store, a tractor
store, and the Johnson Cotton Company
building.
From these modest roots, the college has
now embraced the 21st century with vastly
expanded programs, state-of-the-art facilities, highly-qualified faculty
and staff members, and extraordinary growth on the horizon.
It is my personal privilege to invite you to reflect on our history
and marvel at our future, as together, we celebrate 50 years
of changing lives.
William Findt, President
