KEYNOTE PRESENTATIONDeborah Delisle, Assistant Secretary of education for elementary and Secondary education for the u.S. Department of educationTomorrow is Too Late: What Our Students Need From Us Today!

1 – 2 p.m., Regency BallroomDeborah Delisle, the new Assistant Secretary of education for elementary and Secondary education for the u.S. Department of education, will connect you to vision for the future of education in our state and nation.

in an era that seems to be infatuated with achievement test scores, educators struggle to find an appropriate balance between demonstrating that students are, indeed, learning while also providing rigorous and relevant lessons which engage students’ minds and hearts. in her presentation, Deb Delisle will emphasize the need for a significant transformation of school cultures now to meet the needs of our students for their future – not for our present. By defining the stance of the u.S. in a global economy, Deb will challenge everyone to resist those who believe our best days are behind us and to renew our commitment to kids. By sharing stores about students, classrooms, and leaders, this keynote will energize you and inspire you to create learning environments that embrace innovation and, perhaps, even create breakthroughs that have yet to be imagined.
