Enhancing your capabilities

In the offshore industry, oil and gas companies are facing the challenge of developing exploration and production facilities at a high pace to keep up with the global needs for fossil fuels. One of the strategies to speed up the construction and to work more cost effective is to assemble oil and natural gas production platforms almost to the point of completion before their fi nal positioning at sea. Sophisticated logistics, including the ability to move very large and heavy objects over land and sea and to lift these at the facility is a key element of this strategy. This is where Mammoet excels by providing a wide range of services to enhance the offshore industry’s capabilities.

Complete range of services

Mammoet offers the offshore industry all the expertise, people and equipment for onshore and offshore operations such as:• the design, engineering scheduling and management of all transport logistics;• load-in, load-out and transport of huge jackets and other modules;• lifting, handling and assembly of topside components such as living quarters;• transport, load-out and assembly of ship sections for FPSO construction;• sea fastening, ballasting and barge mooring operations;• decommissioning operations;• weighing and jacking;• provision of heavy lift ships and rental cranes.

Big is beautiful

The offshore industry always likes to do things bigger, and that includes the units used to assemble exploration and production platforms. To save time and cost, fabricators build complete modules which are then connected to each other on site. Consequently the logistics issues are now more challenging than ever. Everything revolves around heavy lifting and transport, Mammoet’s specialties.

Engineering value

Thanks to the experience and expertise of our engineering department, Mammoet is able to deliver added value right from the start: the design and planning stages, where the greatest potential for savings is found. Close liaison between our engineers and those of fabricators enables the latter to design modules that can be moved and lifted more cost-effectively. Careful pre-engineering, planning and logistic solutions further ensure the safety and smoothness of each operation. This is particularly important given the exceptional dimensions of most objects and the often hazardous environment in which the operations take place.

Everything for every job

Mammoet’s equipment guarantees reliability, quick availability even in large numbers, and the best solution for every job. For construction projects we can provide not only cranes but also other heavy equipment such as gantries, push-up systems with capacities up to tens of thousands of tons.

Our fl eet of hundreds of self-propelled modular transporters (SPMTs), jacking systems, skidding equipment and fully computerized ballast systems work together effectively for perfect load-ins and load-outs.

Our PTC 120 DS and PTC 160 DS new generation cranes combine a high load moment with a small footprint. This, and their ability to travel across the quayside on bogies make them the perfect choice for FPSO construction and maintenance.
