ARTICLE 1 :

CEREMONIES AND PROTOCOL

Article 1.1

OPENING CEREMONY

An Opening Ceremony at CEV Beach Volleyball events is decided upon request of the CEV or upon proposal of the Organiser.

The layout and the protocol of the Opening Ceremony should respect the CEV Beach Volleyball Handbook.

Article 1.2

AWARDING CEREMONY

The awarding ceremony is part of each CEV event and shall be organised as follows.

The Organiser shall prepare, before the CEV event, an awarding ceremony program and a layout area. Those documents shall include the following:

• The material mentioned in article 1.2.1 of the present regulations, • The script for the announcer, • A detailed plan of the actions, responsibilities and exact timing of intervention for each

person involved from the end of the final match to the end of the awarding ceremony. Those documents shall be sent, before the CEV event, for consultation, to the following people:

• Personnel mentioned in article 1.2.2 of the present regulations, • Jury president, • Technical Supervisor, • Tournament director, • NF delegate, • TV coordinator, • Announcers.

The CEV Technical Supervisor shall approve those documents. After approval, the Organiser shall send again those documents to the people mentioned above. Each person mentioned above shall be very well acquainted with the content of those documents. The Technical Supervisor shall:

• Verify before the start of the CEV event, that the material, mentioned in article 1.2.1 of the present regulations, is available and duly stored in a secured facility at the venue,

• Verify, before the rehearsal of the awarding ceremony, the layout area, especially according to articles 1.2.1 and 1.2.2 of the present regulations,

• Designate, from a common agreement with the Tournament director, the dignitaries who shall participate to the awarding ceremony.

1.2.1 Material

• 1 awarding ceremony backdrop • Red carpet leading to the podium • 3 award podiums (1st , 2nd and 3rd place – as per Marketing Regulations) • 3 poles for the countrie’s flags (min. 5m high) • A complete set of medals for the winners (2 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze per gender if

awarded) • Winner’s trophies/cups (whenever awarded) – see Article 1.3 • Award table and 3 cushions to display and present the medals • 3 cheques indicating the event’s earnings for the three teams (not mandatory) • Flags of the winning countries (Organiser should have 2-3 flags of the top ranked

countries) • The correct National anthem of the winning team available on the CEV nftp server • Rope and poles to cordon off the photographer’s area • A set of clean atheletes tank tops/tops for the top 3 teams of the same colors of the ones

used for the final games • Possibly one orchestra music (or fanfare/music) plus appropriate music recordings

1.2.2 Personnel The following personnel is needed: • One experienced master of ceremony (MC) with perfect command of English and the

language of the host country • An announcer speaking English and the host country language • Hostesses carrying the medals and throphies • Honorary platoon to maneuver the flags • One professionally-trained chief of protocol to guide and coordinate the various

dignitaries in their movements during the ceremony, as well as an assistant chief of protocol to be in charge of the medal bearers

• The Court Manager and at least 8 additional persons assisting him/her to set up the carpets, podium, back drop, table, etc.

• Security people or controllers to ensure that photographers and authorized TV right holders hand held TV cameramen stay within their restricted area

• One person for each team (3 persons) responsible to gather in a specific area the 3 pairs to be awarded and to provide to the brand-new tops

• The dancers to entertain the spectators while the court manager and his assistant are setting-up all materials

• Officials, staff and volunteers may be allowed to stand-up around the competition area

1.2.3 Rehearsal The assigned personnel must perform a full rehearsal the day preceding the awarding ceremony. All personnel above should be involved as well as the CEV Technical Supervisor, TV Coordinator, and the director designated by the Host TV Broadcaster. Reserve personnel for each function must also be trained to anticipate any last minute contingencies. Organisers should inform the day before the finals the teams concerned about their role and arrange rehearsals with the assigned personnel to ensure that the ceremony is run according to the plan. The participation at the awarding ceremony is compulsory and sanctions are given by the CEV in case a team will be late or even will depart from the hosting city without having the previous written authorization of the CEV Technical Supervisor. All options for the anthems must be prepared in advance (to last from 1 min. and 1 min. and 30 seconds) and the hoisting of the flags must be rehearsed at least one day before the awarding ceremony.

1.2.4 Ceremony The awarding ceremony takes place in the stadium immediately after the last whistle of the final match. The following programme should be used as guideline:

Article 1.3

PRIZES OF HONOUR

1.3.1 TEAM CLASSIFIED 1st

The team classified first shall receive a cup provided by the Organiser and gold medals provided by the CEV.

1.3.2 TEAMS CLASSIFIED 2nd & 3rd

The teams classified second and third shall receive trophies provided by the Organiser and approved by the CEV and silver respectively bronze medals provided by CEV.

ARTICLE 2:

MARKETING RIGHTS ON COMPETITION VENUES

Article 2.1

BASIC PRINCIPLES 2.1.1 The CEV owns exclusively all rights in and to the competition, including, but not limited to, all

rights to broadcast or publicise, in any medium, the competition; all rights to the use of CEV marks and the competition title, all advertising and commercial rights, all advertising spaces, all rights to all intellectual property symbols using such names or variations thereof, as well as all national and international tv rights, internet and mobile devices rights.

2.1.2 The CEV owns the exclusivity for the following product categories: sports & casual leisure

wear, fashion wear, airlines, cars, ball manufacturers, body and health care products. 2.1.3 The share of CEV exclusive rights and not assigned to Organiser shall only be committed

upon request in a specific subsequent endorsement different from this Regulations. 2.1.4 The assignment of CEV exclusive rights may not conflict with any other agreement to which

CEV is a party or by which it is bound. 2.1.5 All rights not expressly granted by written agreement to Organiser remain the exclusive

property of CEV.

Article 2.2

CONCESSION OF THE ORGANISATION OF THE COMPETITION 2.2.1 The CEV, in its capacity of exclusive owner of all national and international rights in and to the

competition, has the sole authority to concede the right and to consign the organization of the competition to the responsibility of Organiser in pursuance of the latter’s formal application and in strict accordance with the latest edition of: - the CEV REGULATIONS; - the FIVB REGULATIONS;

These regulations are consequently to be regarded as an integral part of this Agreement.

2.2.2 Under the assumption that Organiser would intend to subcontract part or whole of the competition’s organisation right to a third party or to third parties, it shall notify this intention and submit the terms of such a subcontracting agreement to CEV's written approval.

Article 2.3

OBLIGATIONS OF THE ORGANISER IN TERMS OF PUBLICITY/ADVERTISEMENT

2.3.1 The assignment of the rights to an Organiser shall be committed in a specific Organiser

Agreement which must be signed after approval of the application between the CEV and the Organiser.

2.3.2 The Organiser shall guarantee the brand exclusivity of the CEV official sponsor(s)/supplier(s)

announced by the CEV and commit itself to turn down any publicity, related to or in the frame of the competition, on site and on any kind of media and promotional material in whatever shape (banners, print advertisement, etc.) for any sponsor/brand likely to be a direct or indirect competitor of the official partners of the CEV or any other commercial product category aimed at by Art. 2.1.2.

2.3.3 The following sponsorship naming rights are reserved for use by Organiser:

• National sponsor • National supplier

2.3.4 All naming rights linked to the competition, except for the provisions sub. Art. 2.3.3, belong to the CEV.

ARTICLE 3 :

CORPORATE IDENTITY OF THE COMPETITION

Article 3.1

GENERAL INFORMATION

3.1.1 The Organiser shall ensure that the competition is always recognizable as a CEV event.

3.1.2 Therefore, the following principle must be applied:

Any production of event signage, stadium, dressing, advertising, print or other promotional material shall incorporate the logo of the CEV, the Competition logo, the Event logo, as well as the logos of the Sponsors, Commercial Affiliates or other logos, in full accordance with the CEV Beach Volleyball regulations and instruction given by CEV.

3.1.3 The display and the proportion of these logos are described in the CEV Beach Volleyball Marketing regulations for the following material but not limited to:

• Event title Board • Press Conference & Award ceremony backdrop • Award Ceremony Podium • Match Result Boards • Score Boards

• Poster • Tickets • Official Event programme • Flyers • Accreditation cards • Result, Press release and Official Event Paper • Medals and Trophies • Television On-screen graphics and Internet design application, etc

All marketing material has to be produced according to CEV instructions and prior approval by CEV.

Article 3.2

PROMOTIONAL PLAN

3.2.1. The Organiser shall define a promotional plan in order to guarantee sufficient spectator attendance during the competition as well as draw maximum attention from all media. Such plan shall not only include the promotional material and the related distribution strategy, but also an advertising strategy involving the local and regional newspapers, TV broadcasters and on-site activities. The aim is to make people aware of the event and to offer the greatest possible visibility to local partners and CEV official sponsors.

3.2.2. The plan has to also summarize other activities used to raise interest before the event

including printed material, promotional items (e.g. give-aways) and promotional activities during the event: merchandising (not clashing with merchandising activities of official CEV partners), sampling, artistic performances during breaks, etc.

3.2.3. The promotional plan has to be part of the tournament application sent to CEV.

Article 3.3

Size: always one size bigger than any other logo (e.g. logo of National Federation) Available Format: eps, jpg The logo is to be downloaded in the download section on the CEV xftp server. For more information and exact layout see the annex.

The logo must always be reproduced in its official colors and side ratio.

Article 3.4

COMPETITION LOGO

(Example for 2014 CEV U18 BEACH VOLLEYBALL EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP) For correct logo see the appropriate annexes and CEV ftp server.

The competition logo shall be made up by the Organiser in close cooperation with CEV. All correct particular competition logos are described in details in the respective annex to this marketing regulations and can be downloaded from the CEV ftp server ftp://nftp.cev.lu. The dimension of the competition logo is allowed to change pro rata only (side ratio). IN CASE THE ORGANISER PRODUCES ITS OWN SPECIFIC COMPETITION LOGO, THE RULES EXPLAINED IN THE ANNEX TO THIS DOCUMENT MUST BE APPLIED: The final version of the competition logo must be approved by the CEV before publishing. For more information and exact layout see the annex.

Article 3.5

COMPETITION TITLE BANNER

The competition title banner shall be produced by the Organiser and be fixed on the panel as foreseen on the respective court layout presented in the appropriate annex to this marketing regulations in good visibility of the Main TV camera and has to be produced according to the layout specified in the appropriate annex to this marketing regulations.

Please note that the shape of the competition banner is different from the shape of the Competition logo.

Article 3.6

BACKDROP LAYOUT

The Organiser shall make sure that the respective backdrop layout presented in the appropriate annex to this marketing regulations is used in course of the whole competition with respect to the Official regulations. The backdrop has to be produced by the Organiser. For more information and exact layout see the annex.

The final layout must be sent to CEV for approval before printing and producing.

Article 3.7

PODIUM LAYOUT

For the awarding ceremony a podium which will be used has to be produced according to the layout specified in the annex to this marketing regulations. The concrete dimension of the podium can be slightly adapted based on specific conditions of the Organiser. The final layout incl. dimensions must be sent to CEV for approval before printing and producing.

Article 3.9

PLAYER’S UNIFORMS

The styles of men’s and women’s uniforms must be produced according to the diagram and specifications displayed in the annex to this document. The final layout must be sent to CEV for approval before printing and producing. All athletes are required to submit to the CEV Supervisor during Preliminary Inquiry the uniforms for approval. 3-letter international country code must be printed on the front and back of both the men’s and women’s tank tops/tops. The uniforms’ number must be produced in the dimensions displayed on the drawing attached in the annex and must be printed in a colour contrasting with the colour of the uniform. No religious and/or political statements as well as any logos or symbols pertaining to organisations other than their national Federations are allowed to be put on the uniforms.

Article 3.10

OFFICIAL’S UNIFORMS

The Organiser has to produce and provide all CEV officials and referees with the uniforms according to the diagram below. The final layout must be sent to CEV for approval before printing and producing. For more information see the annex.

Article 3.11

EVENT BROCHURE

The official event brochure / event programme ist compulsory and must be produced in the preferably format A4 or A5 (minimum) fully respected valid CEV marketing regulations. The proposal of the official brochure / event programme must be sent well ahead of time to CEV for approval. The production, printing and distribution is allowed only after official approval by CEV with a print run of at least 500 units. The content and the text must be written in the English language and optional in the local language. The official event brochure / event programme must mandatory include following parts:

Article 4

CASES NOT FORESEEN

All cases not provided for by the current regulations shall be settled by the CEV Executive Committee. Before and during an event the CEV Supervisor shall be empowered to take immediate action whenever necessary.

A. Basic competition logo

The Competition Logo is the official symbol of the competition and can only be presented in its colour version.

The Organizer may use the Competition symbol only for editorial purposes in non-commercial articles about the Com-petition/event and as a part of the marketing, dressing and promotional material.

The Competition Logo cannot be translated into the local language. It must remain always in English.

B. Joint Competition logo

The Organizer has the right to design a joint competition logo as a part of the common Competition logo.

This organizer’s part shall be made up by the organiser in close cooperation with CEV and the following rules have to be applied:

The logo consists of 2 inseparable parts:a) Official CEV competition logo (described above)b) Respective specific logo made up by the organiser

Both parts have to be solely and always be presented together in one block. The “organiser’s part” of the competi-tion logo has to be placed above the CEV competition logo. The dimension of the competition logo is allowed to be changed on a pro rata basis only, in side ratio.

The final version of the common competition logo must be approved by CEV.

a) CEV part (Competition Identifier) It is composed of the CEV logo and the competition title stripe.The CEV logo (only the colour version) dimension is setting the proportions of all other parts of the Competition logo. The ratio cannot be changed or anyhow modified.

C. CEV logo

The CEV logo consists of the initials “CEV”, the volleyball symbol - the stylised ball - that is always located above the logotype, and the blue background rectangle.

The logo is only to be used in the vertical format shown below and must be presented at least one size bigger then any other logo.

The CEV logo must be printed on all official material (print material, merchandizing articles, banners, etc.) produced by the organizer.

The colour version (CEV initials + volleyball symbol + blue rectangle) must be used on all background colours. Any other use of the logo needs special approval of CEV prior printing. The CEV logo shall always be used in colour. Please use it in black and white only if absolutely necessary.

On white backgrounds, the positive B&W version can be used. Please use this version only if absolutely necessary (i.e. for applications that will be copied or faxed such as score sheet, official forms etc.).

Using this version is the subject of approval by CEV prior to production and printing.

On black or very dark backgrounds, the negative B&W version can be used. Please use this version only if absolutely necessary (i.e. if any other versions of the CEV logo cannot be used).

Utilization of this version has to be approved by CEV prior to production and printing.

The CEV logo should never appear smaller than 25 mm in width, in order to guarantee a good visibility on the print material. The correct dimension of the CEV logo has to be always adapted to the purpose and character of print material which is going to be used.

In any case the correct proportion (side ratio) has to be kept.

The Event sponsor can be displayed in a separate part added below the Competition logo. In any case it must never be integrated into the Organizer’s part and the Event Sponsor and it’s any kind of presentation along with the logo has to be approved by CEV.

ANNEX 2 - Competition title bannerThe competition title banners have to be placed on the positions indicated on the court layout description.

All banners have to printed on heavy, waterproof no transparent material and fixed properly stretched on the support.

ANNEX 4 - PodiumsA three level podium has to be used for the awarding ceremony. The highest level in the centre for the winners, lower level on their right for silver medalists and the lowest platform for bronze medalists on the left of gold medalists plat-form.

The Organiser is allowed to adapt slightly the final dimension of the podium depending on the current specific condi-tions of the event. In any case the final layout and look of the podium has to be approved by CEV before printing and producing.

The respective layout of the podium is available for downloading on the CEV ftp server.
