Why Are We Crucial
to the Community?
The majority of our students
come from homes that have
limited experiences. Theyare also under-represented at
institutions of higher
learning. Odyssey Academy
provides the students with
experiences and
opportunities to get ahead.
H o w W e D o I t - H o w W e D o I t -The program incorporates the team approach. The teachers meet regularly and discuss individua
student need as well as program needs. The team approach also enables the teachers to meet wit
parents to provide a more complete picture of the student. Through the team approach, student
form a stronger bond and learn to work as a team.
Classroom All classes are rigorous at a pre-AP level. In the 8th
grade, students may take high school Algebra and have the
opportunity receive high school technology credit.
Technology Though technology is a great expense, all students
receive laptops allowing the opportunity to immerse themselves inup-to-date software. This is a unique part of what Odyssey
Academy has to offer its high achieving and deserving students.
Field Trips The students take fieldtrips based on curriculum and
grade level. Examples of fieldtrips are Space Center Houston, Texas
A&M Vet School, and Washington on the Brazos.
Current and Engaging Projects The students participate in
interdisciplinary projects at all grade levels that incorporate
concepts taught throughout the semester in all classes. The
teachers also incorporate projects and programs that apply to whatis being taught as well as presenting a challenge through
competition such as Brazos Best Robotics.
