We continue to make excellent progress with the roll out and implementation of our 2015-2016 curriculum. The focus of the C.A.R.E.S curriculum is freedom within structure to help children build on the
At Home
What You Can Do At Home To Compliment Your Child’s Learning Be familiar with the themes your child is learning and reinforce theme-related concepts. Check your Tadpoles reports for the latest information on this front. Example 1: If your child’s class is learning about apples, point out all the different kinds of apples on your next trip to the grocery store Example 2: If you child’s class is working on letters S, R, and O, talk about what sound they make and point them out when you seen them.

knowledge that they have, and to explore their surroundings in a safe and fun environment. Our activities and lesson plans help stimulate and make connections with the children at the school. The curriculum has moved beyond STEM ( Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) to now to include STREM enhancements (adding Reading and Art) which increase a child’s achievements through the use of science literacy integration and technology. As earlier, our curriculum will continue the use of age-appropriate applications such as Hooked-On- Phonics and ABC mouse to help promote higher levels of thinking. The Character Values section of the curriculum will help build healthily social and emotional skills through the use of related exercises, and books, activities and group discussions based on the monthly character value.

New Menu
As you may have noticed, along with the new school
year, we have launched our new menu – which we are
still in the process of testing. This new menu not only more than
doubles the variety of food items while still maintaining healthy
standards and remaining nut free.

We would like to thank Mr. A for all that he does at our center. Not only is he our After School teacher extraordinaire, but has also got out Music & Movement off to a resounding success. We love his always positive attitude with the children, parents and teachers. He is constantly looking for ways to improve things. Thank you for all your hard work Mr. A.
This Fall, our music enrichment program has taken morphed into our own brand of M & M’s – Music & Movement - led by our very own Mr. ‘A’. The program includes the instruction and application of rhythmic song and dance to enhance childhood development and productivity.
"Since as early as I can remember, I was fortunate enough to have been enriched with the joyous wonderment that's comes from both the learning and sharing of music and dance. As I roll out our program at Childrens Lighthouse, I look forward to working with our students to help them build such a love for music and dance”, says Mr. A.
Even though it saddens our old music teacher (and owner), Mr. ‘H’ to not be teaching our kids going forward, he is most thrilled to be handing over the music baton to Mr. A.
