What is tone?• Your ideas

• Literary definition: Tone is the writer's attitude toward the material and/or readers. Tone may be playful, formal, intimate, angry, serious, etc.• Look for key words within the text to determine tone.Ex: rage, love, quick, black, dark, bright.
