Introduction:

Organizational behaviour has been introduced as an important part of an organization for

accomplishing several various tasks of the organization in an effective manner. The

organizational structure and culture of the organization also plays the significant role for

maintaining several activities of the organization that could be helpful for meeting the various

goals and objectives of the organization. This particular report manly highlights the different

types of relationship between the organizational structure and culture of the organization. This

report also focuses on the different types of factors of the behaviour of the organization that

influences the performance of an organization. Various leadership styles and theories of

leadership also have been described in accordance with the given case scenario. This report also

focuses on the different types of motivational theories in accordance with the given case

scenario. The last part of this report mainly focuses on the concepts of group behaviours and

nature of group behaviour.

1.2 Relationship between structure and culture of an organization that influence on the

performance of the business

The organizational structure and culture of the organization plays an effective role for improving

the performance of the business operations in the workplaces of the organization. For effectively

understanding of the concepts of organizational structure and culture Tesco plc. has been chosen

in this part of the report. The organizational structure mainly includes different factors of the

organization such as internal and external environment, leadership style and the culture of the

organization. In accordance with the observation of Charteris-Black, (2007) it can be understood

that the skeleton of the organizational hierarchy which maintains line of commands can be

considered as the organizational structure. The organizational structure helps to maintain the

different types of rules and regulations of the organization that helps to take effective decision

for sustainable growth of the organization.

Tesco maintains a formal structure of the organizational hierarchy which includes top level

management to lower level management and employees. The top level management of Tesco is

mainly responsible for taking various decisions that could be beneficial for meeting the

objectives of the organization in a proper way. The lower level management of Tesco is

responsible for maintaining the various tasks of the organization by motivating people in the

workplaces of the organization. Relationship with the co-workers in the workplaces is quite

important for improving performance of the organization. The culture, external and internal

environmental factors and the culture of the Tesco helps to improve the performance of the

employees in the workplaces of the organization.

According to the statement of Conroy & Pincus, (2011) It can be observed that the organizational

culture of the organization includes different factors such as attitudes, values and shared beliefs

of the organization that influences upon the performance of an organization. The organizational

culture helps to maintain different types of internal rituals of the organization. The organizational

culture of Tesco is greatly influenced on the success performance of the organization. The

different stakeholders of the Tesco help to improve performance of the organization by

implementing several values and attitudes of the organization (Conroy & Pincus, 2011).

The employee behaviour in the workplaces of the organization is closely associated with the

organizational structure and culture. The four factors which are greatly influenced upon the

behaviour of the workplaces of the Tesco are summarized below;

Job environment

Tesco ensures a good working environment for enhancing the performance of the employees that

would be helpful for developing sustainable growth of the organization. The performance of the

employees in the workplaces of any organization mainly depends upon the working environment

(Glanz, 2002).

Job security

Job security in any organization has been considered as an important factor for enhancing the

performance of the organization. Employee satisfaction can be enhanced through the help of high

job security to the employees. Tesco ensures job security for the employees that help to enhance

the growth of the organization.

Benefits

Different types of benefits for the workers play a significant role for improving the performance

of the organization. Tesco ensures different types of payment benefits and other facilities for its

employees which help to enhance the productivity of the organization. Tesco also ensures bonus

and incentives for the employees for achieving the target which are greatly influenced on the

performance of the organization.

Relationship with other workers

Relationship with the co-workers in the workplaces of the organization plays a significant role

for enhancing the performance of the organization. The management authority of Tesco plays a

significant role for ensuring a friendly work environment which helps to improve the

performance of the organization that can be beneficial for sustainable growth of the organization

(Greenstein, 2009).

The leadership style plays an effective role for managing several kinds of activities of the

organization in a proper manner. The leadership styles can be broadly classified into five types

such a laissez faire leadership style, autocratic leadership style, participative leadership style,

transactional leadership style and the transformational leadership style. Different types of

organization maintain different types of leadership style for carrying out the organizational

activities in an effective way. In accordance with the given case scenario it can be observed that

the citizen UK bank want to extend it’s opening hours for ensuring better customer service. It

can be also observed from the given case scenario that the leadership style should be passionate,

enthusiastic and energetic for supporting the people in the workplaces of the organization. From

the given case scenario of citizen bank, UK it can be recommended that participative leadership

style would be more suitable for this type of organizational structure. In participative leadership

style the leaders as well as the employees are responsible for taking several decisions. In this

type of leadership style the leaders of the organization helps the employee for adapting changes

in the organization structure. The leaders are also responsible for supporting the employees for

facing challenges in the organization (Hall & Janman, 2010).

In accordance with the given case scenario of tasty fried chicken it can be understood that the

restaurants also wants to increase its opening hour for expanding the market share. With the

given case scenario it can be observed that transformational leadership style would be more

suitable for this kind of organization as the leaders of the organization continuously

communicates with the followers for supporting them that would be beneficial for expanding the

business growth.

2.2 Explanation of the organizational theory for management of tasty fried chicken and

citizen bank

The organizational theories help to shape the structure of the organization. In order to achieve

various goals and objectives of the organization the organizational theory and practices should be

taken into considered. The organizational theory mainly consists of three types of approaches

such as administrative theory, scientific approach to the management and the bureaucratic

approach of Weber’s. The different theories of the organizations are applicable for different

types of organization. For the given two organizations such as tasty fried chicken and citizen

bank administrative theory of management can be applicable. The administrative management

was established by Fayol. Dynamic management is the prime focus of this particular

management approach. The administrative theory mainly includes three factors such as

organizing, leading and controlling. The both organization maintains the planning, organizing,

leading and controlling activities in order to achieve sustainable growth of the organization. With

the help of administrative theory approach the both organization can adapt the changes in the

organizational structure (Hiriyappa, 2009).

2.3 Different approaches of management of tasty fried chicken and citizen bank

Basically there are three types of managerial approaches which are widely used in organization

such as;

Passive management approach or active approach.

Building capacity approach or the cultivating approach.

High control approach or steering approach.

In accordance with the observation of the case scenario of it can be understood that active

approach and cultivating approaches of management are maintained by the both organizations in

order to develop the growth of the organization. The both organizations mainly focuses on the

enhancing motivation of the employees. Teamwork approach is the best approach for the leader

for motivating the people in the organization (McShane & Von Glinow, 2000).

3.2 comparisons of three motivational theories for tasty fried chicken and citizen bank

The three prime motivational theories are theory x and y, Maslow’s hierarchy need theory and

the vroom’s expectancy theory. The different types of motivation theories for tasty dried chicken

and citizen bank are summarized below;

In accordance with the X and Y theory it can be observed that the human management can be

broadly categorized into two types such as type X and type Y. The X groups of people are lazy

and unable to accomplish their roles and responsibilities. In order to maintain this group of

In accordance with the Vroom’s theory it can be understood the employee motivation can be

improved in the workplaces of the by implementing several kinds of internal factors such as

knowledge, skills and training. The both organization should apply this theory in order to

improve the performance of the employees (Miner, 2007).

3.3 usefulness of the motivational theory for citizen bank and tasty fried chicken

Different types of motivational theories are very important in the workplace of the organization

for improving the performance of the employees. Motivational theories are very helpful for the

managers for selecting the proper theory that is suitable for the organization. In order to increase

The groups in the workplaces of the organization can be broadly categorized into two types such

as formal groups and informal group. The formal group in the organization is formed in order to

achieve specific type of goals and objectives of the organization. In this type of group behaviour

each and every member should be responsible for carrying out the working activities. Informal

groups are not used in organization which can be categorized into two types such as interest

group and friendship group.

4.2 factors of effective teamwork

In order to maintain an effective teamwork several kinds of factors are necessary in the

workplaces of the organization such as communication, trust, leadership, attitudes and workforce

diversity. Effective communication among the team members help to improve the performance

of the organization. Trust is the prime factor building up relationship with the team members.

Leadership style plays an effective role for maintaining team work in the workplaces of the

organization (Thomas, 2000).

4.3 impacts of the technology on team functioning

Different types of technology in the workplaces of the organization helps to build up team

functioning. With the help of different types of online group chat the various types of

information can be gathered from different group members that would be effective for enhancing

the team functioning in the workplaces of the organization. Various types of problems in the

team work can be solved through the help of online chat system (Williams, 2005).
