Welcome back, I hope that you had a great holiday; mine is now a dim and distant memory but my photos show I had a great time in Costa Rica.
I am really impressed at how quickly the children have settled back into school and their new class, every room is calm with a buzz of learning. I know that our staff are all very happy. A special mention to our new reception classes who have joined us with no fuss whatsoever. We are now on the first floor with our Year 3 class, who have had fun playing on the roof this week at break times.
Next week the morning drop off begins again for all, so no parking please. Please remember that the gates will be closed at the end of the school day as there is no car collection.
I have the joy of an Oasis Principals conference next week but will see you on Tuesday.

The children in reception have had a wonderful
first three days. They have been learning all about
the routines of the day and we are enjoying getting
to know each other. Next week we will continue to
learn about the expectations in school and will
play lots of games. We will also have our first
music lesson.

Back with a bang. In year 1 this week we ventured onto the common exploring our
new topic ‘Enchanted Woodland’. We discovered a trail of fairy dust and what we
thought might be a fairy home. Some children also spotted some nests in the
trees. In maths we practised representing numbers with concrete manipulatives.

Dear Parents,
We are introducing a programme in our school called Babywatching which helps children to under-
stand each other’s feelings and motivations.
Babywatching has been developed to help children aged 4-10 years: develop sensitivity and em-
pathy; build self-confidence, language skills and self-esteem and decrease their anxieties and ag-
gression. It is primarily a school-based programme where a parent and their baby visit a class of
primary-aged children, once a week, for 20 minutes. Guided by a teacher, the children watch the
interactions between them, learning about the pair’s developing relationship.
We are looking for a parent and a baby to volunteer to visit our Babywatching Group. Ideally your
baby should be around 1-3 months old by the start of November. If you are interested please get in
touch with me
Many thanks.
