Numbers Reading Plan Welcome to the study of Numbers! Each day will focus on a passage of

Scripture from the book of Numbers. For the full experience, we invite you to read the daily reading before reading the First 5 teaching for that day.

Day 1 Reading: Numbers 1 Major Moment: A military census is taken of the men of Israel, excluding the tribe of Levi. Day 2 Reading: Numbers 2 Major Moment: Camping and marching orders for the Israelite tribes. Day 3 Reading: Numbers 3 Major Moment: Census of the Levites is taken. Day 4 Reading: Numbers 4 Major Moment: Instructions for the Levites ages 30 – 50 who were responsible for the care of the tabernacle. Day 5 Reading: Numbers 5 Major Moment: God gives instructions about purity in the camps and gives a law of marital faithfulness. Day 6 Reading: Numbers 6 Major Moment: God instructs the Nazirites and gives the priestly blessing. Day 7 Reading: Numbers 7 Major Moment: The offerings at the dedication of the tabernacle. Day 8 Reading: Numbers 8 Major Moment: The setting up of the lamps and the cleansing and dedication of the Levites for service to the Lord.

Day 9 Reading: Numbers 9 Major Moment: Continuation of and the establishment of laws for the observance of Passover, and the cloud is used to lead the Israelites. Day 10 Reading: Numbers 10 Major Moment: The Israelites leave Sinai.

Day 11 Reading: Numbers 11 Major Moment: The people complain to Moses and God miraculously provides quail for the people to eat. Day 12 Reading: Numbers 12 Major Moment: God judges Miriam and Aaron’s complaints against Moses. Day 13 Reading: Numbers 13 Major Moment: Twelve Israelite spies explore the land of Canaan and return with their report. Day 14 Reading: Numbers 14 Major Moment: The people rebel against God and are told they will not be able to enter the Promised Land. Day 15 Reading: Numbers 15 Major Moment: Laws regarding supplemental offerings, unintentional sin offerings and the breaking of the Sabbath. Day 16 Reading: Numbers 16 Major Moment: Korah’s rebellion

Day 17 Reading: Numbers 17 Major Moment: God affirms Aaron’s authority as His chosen leader through the budding of Aaron’s staff.

Day 18 Reading: Numbers 18 Major Moment: The duties of and offerings and inheritance for the priests and Levites Day 19 Reading: Numbers 19 Major Moment: The sacrifice of the red heifer and the water of cleansing Day 20 Reading: Numbers 20 Major Moment: God judges Moses’ lack of faith; Miriam and Aaron die. Day 21 Reading: Numbers 21 Major Moment: The rebellion of God’s people and Moses’ construction of the bronze snake. Day 22 Reading: Numbers 22 Major Moment: Balaam converses with his donkey and then encounters the angel of the Lord. Day 23 Reading: Numbers 23 Major Moment: Balaam’s first two messages

Day 24 Reading: Numbers 24 Major Moment: Balak responds in anger because Balaam could only speak what the Lord commanded about Israel. Day 25 Reading: Numbers 25 Major Moment: Israel angers the Lord by turning to the gods of the Moabites. Day 26 Reading: Numbers 26 and 27 Major Moments: Numbers 26: Israel’s second census Numbers 27: The daughters of Zelophehad receive their land and Joshua becomes the leader of Israel.

Day 27 Reading: Numbers 28 Major Moment: God reminds the Israelites to keep His commands concerning the appointed offerings and feasts. Day 28 Reading: Numbers 29 Major Moment: God gives instructions on the offerings for the Festival of Trumpets, offerings for the Day of Atonement and offerings for the Festival of Tabernacles. Day 29 Reading: Numbers 30 Major Moment: The law of vows and exceptions to those vows as they relate to women. Day 30 Reading: Numbers 31 Major Moment: God judges and crushes the Midianite pagans. Day 31 Reading: Numbers 32 Major Moment: The Reubenites, Gadites, and half-tribe of Manasseh choose to live on the east side of the Jordan rather than settling with the nation in the Promised Land. Day 32 Reading: Numbers 33 Major Moment: Moses records the stages of Israel’s journey out of Egypt to Jordan as they prepare to conqueror the Promised Land. Day 33 Reading: Numbers 34 Major Moment: God defines the boundaries for the land of Canaan and appoints a leader from each tribe to help assign the land. Day 34 Reading: Numbers 35 Major Moment: God sets up priestly cities and cities of refuge. Day 35 Reading: Numbers 36 Major Moment: Women able to become landowners through inheritance.
