Detailed Marina Port Plans: Docking in an unfamiliar port is no problem, when you have precise layouts of thousands of marinas, including slip spaces, restricted areas, and other valuable navigation information.

Mercury Integration features

SmartTow® can now be controlled from NSS evo2 displays when connected to a VesselView® 4 or 7 and a supporting engine.

SmartCraft® Descriptive Fault Text Unlocked: Previously descriptive fault text was only available on VesselView displays.

Password protection for system settings

RTM 3.0 includes an optional PIN protection feature for system settings, files and GoFree™ Shop access. A PIN code can be applied under HOME>SETTINGS>PIN CODE. The PIN code is a 4-digit number and if forgotten the user will either need to perform a hard reset or contact customer support for an unlock code.

HALO™ Integration

RTM-3.0 brings the latest Radar feature set to get the most from your HALO™ Radar.

Usage modes now include Harbour, Offshore, Weather and Bird mode.

PPI Sector blanking.

Radar System Data (RSD)

RSD (Radar System Data) NMEA0183 output message is used to output the cursor position from the radar PPI. The message can be sent to an external piece of targeting equipment such as a night-vision camera with panning capabilities to seek out the position of a chosen target.

Instrument bar groups

There are now new pre-configured data bar pages. Cruise, Fishing, Anchor, Fuel and General. These can be set relevant to each page or split. Each of these can be configured. Note: The former Global Instrument bar set prior to the upgrade is now saved under “General”. The Default Instrument bar after the upgrade is Cruise.

Fixes and Improvements

Lockup on start up An issue was identified on some NSSevo2 displays that resulted in the unit reaching the boot splash screen, locking up then rebooting. This issue has been resolved in RTM 3.0.

Touch screen improvements Improvements have been made to the touch screen drivers to resolve intermittent touch on some NSS evo2 displays and better resistance against false touches from water.

Incorrect sonar water temperature An issue has been reported when using Airmar CHIRP transducers connected to the NSSevo2 Combo. This can effect transducers that have a digital temperature sensor. The issue results in the maximum temperature value 55°C (131°F) being constantly displayed on the screen. Note: If the transducer is connected to another Echo sounder module on the network such as BSM-2, BSM-3 or SonarHub. This will require its own software upgrade. Please download from the Simrad-yachting.com website.

WIFI-1

Software: RTM-3.0 has an important software upgrade for the WIFI-1 module built in. After RTM-3.0 has been installed the NSS evo2 will update any WiFI-1 units on the Ethernet network. Follow the onscreen directions. Power cycle the WiFi-1 module after the upgrade. WIFI-1 Second Ethernet Port: New features on the MFD such as connecting to Internet hotspots require the WIFI-1 device to power cycle between modes. This will cause any Ethernet device connected to the WIFI-1 second port to be temporarily disconnected from the network when powering on or changing mode. For this reason we do not recommend using the WIFI-1 as a network switch.

Improved Ethernet Network Stability

BSM-3: Improvements have been made in the way NSS evo2 re-acquires the BSM-3 as the echo sounder source after power cycle. Radar: Improvements to Ethernet network connectivity to avoid the “NO RADAR” message using 3G, 4G and Halo Radars. ForwardScan: Resolved an issue where in some circumstances ForwardScan would show a “No Source” message. Note: If ForwardScan transducer is connected to a SonarHub. The SonarHub module will require an update. Download the file Sonar_Hub-3.0-52.1.103-32282-r1-Standard-1.riw from the Simrad-yachting.com website.

Power control setting

The default (Factory Reset) setting for Power Control has now changed from Slave to Master. The setting change will apply to new factory units or when the unit has been reset to factory defaults

Change in update procedure

There is slight change to the behavior of the update process. Once this update has been applied;

The display will restart and will now bypass the “Update selection” menu.

On some displays the unit will then perform a touch calibration which will have a prompt not to touch the screen. This will take a few seconds and reboot afterwards. Do not touch the display during this touch screen calibration. This step only happens

during this update.

Known Issues Listed below are a number of issues we are aware of but were not fixed in time for this release. We are working hard on to resolve these issues for the next release of software later in the year.

Import of large user data files can cause a lowering of performance.

Persistent Jeppesen message appearing on start-up if C-MAP chart card is used.

Sonar source changes automatically to first available sonar source on start-up if nominated sounder is off line. Next release will not change source.

Pulse radar Manual Tune settings not retained: Magnetron hours reported incorrect

SETTINGS>ADVANCED>FEATRUES. Changes made are not retained after a power cycle.

Issues displaying NSOevo2 on to some third party monitors.

AIS TCPA/CPA information not appearing when used with some AIS receivers.

When running sonar in a split zoom view, the zoom window will automatically jump to the bottom of the screen if the sounder gets a bottom lock.

SonarHub settings do not persist after a power cycle.

Instances of dual chart split screen both with Sirius weather overlay over Navionics chart can cause an MFD to crash.

SonarHub™ 3.0 Software Update

Product: 000-11142-001

Product Description: SonarHub Module

Software Version: 3.0

Effective Date: July 2015

Inspect/Update Current Inventory: Yes

We are pleased to announce that new software has been released for the SonarHub™ module. This is a major release that incorporates important improvements.

The software, Sonar_Hub-3.0-52.1.103.riw, can be downloaded from the SonarHub downloads page on the Simrad, Lowrance and B&G websites.

Fixes and Improvements

ForwardScan™ compatibly (Simrad and B&G)

If a Simrad® evo2 or B&G Zeus2 Multi-Function-display has been updated to the latest version of

software (52.1.103 or later); This version of SonarHub software is required if a ForwardScan

transducer is connected to the SonarHub. Without this upgrade the ForwardScan feature will not

work.

Invalid or no temperature readings

Certain Airmar® CHIRP transducers that have a digital temperature sensor are known to at times

output an invalid signal resulting with either a reading of 55°C (131°F) or no temperature (“_ _

_”). This version of software will resolve this issue if the transducer is connected to the

SonarHub.

Low CHIRP Performance

In some installations, SonarHub modules running in Low CHIRP for extended periods of time may

decrease in performance. The performance issue with low CHIRP has now been resolved with

this update for SonarHub.

Echo sounder split screen usability issue

When running an Echo + Echo split screen on a Simrad or B&G MFD, the right hand side of the

split screen can stop scrolling, while leaving the left hand side operating. This has been resolved

with SonarHub v3.0.

Note: Total resolution of this issue also requires that the Simrad or B&G MFD is upgraded to

version 52.1.103 or later.

Upgrade Instructions

Before commencing with the upgrade it is recommended that network traffic is minimized by de-powering unnecessary devices such as AIS transponders, and multifunction displays.

Upgrades must be performed dock side and not whilst the vessel is underway. Some NMEA 2000 devices will go into maintenance mode during the upgrade and will be off line.

Make sure all monitors to be upgrades are connected to the NMEA 2000 network.

Download the zipped software package from Simrad-yachting.com Unzip the two files to the root of a media card (SD card for NSO, micro SD for NSS) The Updaters can be run from any Simrad MFD that is on the same NMEA 2000 network as the MO Monitor. If there is another MFD other than an NSO it is recommended to run the updater from that MFD.

How to check current versions Before upgrading please make a note of the current versions of the monitor.

1. Press the power button on the monitor to bring up the OSD (On Screen Display) 2. Press down arrow to select CONFIGURATION 3. The software versions in the example below are

a. OSD 1.8.2 b. BIOS 1.3.3
