Ealing aims at providing our Newly Qualified Teachers with a wide range of professional development opportunities to support them in their first year of teaching.

We aim to make our NQTs feel excited about their professional development and this is why we have combined a very comprehensive package which includes sessions that:

o are planned systematically and carefully to meet the needs of all NQTs o are based on best practice o are provided by LA consultants/ advisers and external experts; and school-based colleagues using the expertise available within

their school, e.g. team teaching, coaching/mentoring, sharing existing expertise; observation opportunities to observe experienced colleagues in other settings

o are based on current research and inspection evidence; o make effective use of resources; o provide value for money; o have effective reflective, monitoring and evaluation systems, including seeking out and acting on user feedback to inform the

This will be a 2 hour workshop to provide an introduction

to Mathematics Mastery and its principles. It will provide

an opportunity to observe a mathematics mastery lesson

in KS1/EYFS

Time with a mathematics mastery specialist discussing the

principles and elements applied to a lesson.

Engagement and Challenge

Learning depends on a desire to learn and thrives on the

three E’s: Engagement, Enjoyment and Expression. This

session will include a range of practical ideas and

resources which have been tried and tested in the

classroom and can be applied to any subject in any key

stage.

This session will also look at how to build appropriate

levels of challenge into lessons including strategies to

develop pupils’ determination, resilience and

independence to allow them to deal with a demanding

curriculum effectively.

Hobbayne Primary School CPD Programme offers the following courses:

Excellence in NQT Induction

This series of sessions are intended to support your school in developing an outstanding NQT induction programme that will support your new teachers to become

excellent practitioners by the end of the year. The sessions are designed for mentors, senior leaders, deputy heads, headteachers or those responsible for

professional development within your school setting. The sessions are termly and will cover everything from what an outstanding NQT program looks like to how to

set one up yourself. It will support you in its delivery term by term and give you the opportunity to discuss, share and review its impact with other school leaders.
