Mastercam - Act Now and Protect Your Investment

Keep Your Shop Running at Peak Productivity You may not have realized that your Mastercam X was released nearly a

decade ago. Computers have vastly evolved during this time and today’s

CAD/CAM technology has taken advantage of those improvements. By not

keeping your Mastercam system current, you are missing out on all the ad-

vances — not the least of which are dramatically increased processing

speed, ease of use, shorter cycle times, and machining flexibility.

Mastercam X, which was created almost a full decade ago? Just imagine

the technological advances in those ten years. Although Mastercam X will

still get the job done, you're missing out on dramatic enhancements and time saving

features that weren't available at that time.

Update before December 23rd and receive:

25% off the Update Price

FREE 1 Day Mastercam X Transition Class being held in

January on 01/9/2012 in Sterling MA and 01/11/2012 in Win-

dsor Locks CT

and you will not be able to update without buying at full price. By updating now, you have

the limited opportunity for incredible savings.

Here are just a few of the thousands of enhancements since Mastercam X that can save

your shop time and money:

Dramatically faster solids programming with Feature Based Machining

Better finish and longer tool life with new High Speed Toolpaths

Smart Hybrid Finishing that intelligently blends two efficient cutting techniques in a

single toolpath

New Dynamic Milling toolpath techniques

The power to open virtually any CAD file, including SolidWorks files, complete with history

New roughing toolpath strategies that can increase productivity by 75% or more

And so much more

What’s New In Mastercam

What’s New in Mastercam X6 64-bit Support -Mastercam X6 is available as a 64-bit application, which lets

you take full advantage of your 64-bit hardware and operating systems.

Level Manager Improvements -These improvements focus on level manipula-

tions that are especially useful on parts imported from other systems where lev-

els were not used. These enhancements will assist you in organizing the data so

you can create toolpaths or perform other edits to the model. On the Change

Levels and Attributes dialog boxes, you now have control over the visibility of

new levels you create for geometry. You can force new levels to be visible or

invisible once the geometry is moved or copied.

In addition, you can control which level is the Main level using the arrow keys in the

Level Manager. Select the Arrow keys set main level checkbox and use the arrow

keys to move

through the level

list and change your

Main level.

Services 4 Automation Tech Tip

Mass change of surface normals

Solid modeling represents the state of the art in CAD today. It is at times still necessary

to use surfaces for a variety of reasons. If normals direction can affect your process this

may be of interest. Surfaces have a normal (i.e. positive side) and a back (i.e. negative)

side.

Mastercam has a tool in the edit menu called Set Normal
