Week 27th of April - 1st of May Hi boys, Here is another list of work suggestions for you. Again, there is no pressure to complete all activities just do what you can. Please spread the work out evenly over the course of the week and try to engage in English, Irish and Maths activities every day at least with lots of active breaks. Starlight: Read Unit 14b and complete Activities A- E (Monday -Wednesday)

Narrative Writing: Write a narrative or story. The idea for your story is ‘The Year 2050’. What might life be like in the year 2050? Use your imagination to develop an idea for a story set in the future. (Thursday - Friday)

Always plan first!! Think about the following:

Who are your characters? Where is your story set? What is the problem or complication and how will it be solved? How will your story end? Remember to: Plan your story with a beginning, middle and end. Organise your ideas into paragraphs. Choose your words carefully to entertain the reader. Write in sentences. Pay attention to your spelling and punctuation. Check and edit your work carefully.

Other English Activities:

Here are some ideas to keep your brain active and all you need is a pen and paper.

1. Write Humpty Dumpty’s diary for the day that he fell off the wall. 2. Make a poster to advertise a snail race. 3. Can you make a chain sentence? Use the last letter of each word to start the next

word. Here is an example: Joseph helped Daniel lift the elephant! 4. Make a list of questions that you would ask a dinosaur. 5. C I O M N P H A

How many different words can you make using these letters? (You can only use each letter once!)

6. Reader Response: Choose any piece of reading material (novel, magazine, comic, newspaper, website, encyclopedia). Pick the most important word/ line/ image/ object/ event from what you read and explain why you chose it.
