V. COURSE DESCRIPTION:This course is designed to provide LPN mobility students self-directed opportunities to prepare for placement into the third semester of the ADN program. Emphasis is on assessment and validation of selected theory, process, and skills covered in NUR 102, 103, 104, 105, and 106. Upon successful completion of assessments, students are eligible for progression into NUR 201. Students who successfully complete this course are awarded 15 non-traditional hours at the completion of the LPN mobility curriculum. This course supports CIP code 51.1601.

XI. EVALUATION AND ASSESSMENTA. Theory

1. Tests will be given throughout the course and may incorporate various teaching/learning methods (for example: situational, multiple choice, discussion, performances, etc).

2. Students must pass knowledge assessment for each course (NUR 102, 103, 104, 105, and 106) with a minimum score of 75% with two attempts before attempting skills validation.

B. Campus Lab

1. Students must pass all knowledge assessments before performing skills validation.

2. Students are expected to complete required computer programs and view assigned video programs prior to performing skills validation.

3. Students have two opportunities to successful perform all required skills in the campus lab.

C. Course Grade

Students must pass each content validation exam with a minimum score of 75%. The course grade will be determined by averaging the grades received on validation exams. The student must pass both knowledge assessments and all skills validation for progression into Nursing 201.

XII. ATTENDANCEStudents are expected to attend all classes for which they are registered. Students who are unable to attend class regularly, regardless of the reason or circumstance, should withdraw from that class before poor attendance interferes with the student’s ability to achieve the objectives required in the course. Withdrawal from class can affect eligibility for federal financial aid. Withdrawal from class can prohibit progression in nursing and allied health programs.

XIII.
