Communication Practice
Topic- HorsesMe: Horses are my favorite animal. I have a horse named Corky.
Partner: Cool! My favorite animal is a koala bear. I don’t have any pets though
Me: Koala Bears! I’ve always wanted to go to Australia
Partner: Yeah, but Ireland sounds way cooler since they have castles
Me: True! Castles can be spooky and the knights are cool too.
Partner: And the knights ride on horses! I love brown horses, the clydesdales are so big.
Me: Corky is brown! He’s not as big as a clydesdale though. Do you ride horses?
Looks at the speaker and makes Eye Contact.
Focuses on what the speaker is saying and not on his/her own next statement.
Does not finish the other person’s sentences.
Uses positive body language and verbal signals.
Asks good questions to prompt further discussion.
Does not change the subject too quickly.
