Introduction
If you work or volunteer for a nonprofit, you know one of the challenges is marketing on a
shoestring budget. While traditional means of awareness and fundraising like direct mail and phonathon campaigns are very effective ways to engage supporters, they are also very limited in scope and outdated. Online marketing efforts help
you spread the message further and reach new people.

Visual Content
Infographics
Information graphics or infographics are graphic visual representations of information, data or knowledge intended to present complex information quickly and clearly.
They can improve cognition by utilizing graphics to enhance the human visual system’s ability to see patterns and trends.
The process of creating infographics can be referred to as data visualization, information design, or information architecture.

Designing an Infographic
Keep it simple! Don’t try to do too much in one picture.
Decide on a color scheme. Research some great facts and statistics. Think of it as a visual essay: ensure your arguments
hold and are relevant. Remember that it’s all about quickly conveying the
meaning behind complex data. Draw conclusions. Reference your facts in the infographic. Include your URL so people can be sure who made it.
