During the first and the second century A.D.Ephesus, was at its peak. A vibrant city withcomfortable hillside homes and a population ofabout 250,000 people. 4. Most visitors to Ephesus arrive by cruise ship. Some visitors begin their excursion at theimpressive Gate of Hercules . 6. Once in Ephesus it is not hard to imagine thehistorical past. The colonnade streets are adornedand remarkably preserved Greco-Roman relicswith beautiful temples and shrines. 7. Ephesus dates back to 2000 B. C., ifyou were to walk along the marblestreets it was considered the ancient worlds Rodeo Drive. 8.
