Presuppositions of NLP Presuppositions of NLP are foundational statements that NLP is based on. By living through the beliefs held in these statements, participants are able to better serve themselves and others.

Rapport; establishment, maintaining In every area of our lives, we are surrounded by other people. NLP begins with teaching the basis of communication and connection - rapport.

Pacing and leading Once rapport is maintained, the practitioner learns how to lead another person. This skill is crucial for influencing, sales, negotiation, as well as other areas.

Calibration Calibration is the art of being able to read someone’s body language and voice to check for congruency in what is being said to what is being felt or thought about.

Representational systems Knowing our own and others representational systems is crucial in our communication as well every aspect of our lives that has communication as a base. In Practitioner, we teach you how to identity representational systems as well as how to switch our own to better match another’s. This is crucial to rapport and leading.

Meta-model Meta-model is a language system that allows the practitioner to uncover lost meaning and content in everyday speech. This skill set nearly eliminates all miscommunication.

Milton-model Milton-model is another language system the practitioner will use to influence as well as to bring about a state of hypnotherapy.

Elicitation of well-formed outcomes The practitioner will craft and build goals that work best with how the mind and motivation works.

Overlap and transition This technique is used with some communication skills.

Metaphor creation Being able to create a metaphor allows the practitioner to paint subtle pictures that allow others to see solutions to challenges indirectly.

Frames, contrast, relevancy, as if and backtrack

Frames are essential to our understanding of what things mean. This is an important skill in developing and coaching ourselves and others.

Anchoring (VAK) Anchors exist in our everyday lives but practitioners learn how to set them on purpose to create precise feeling states (motivated, calm, inspired, etc.)

Anchoring techniques Practitioners learn how to chain and collapse anchors

Shift from internal to external consciousness as needed

This skill is taught so practitioners master putting themselves into different states of consciousness.

Dissociation and association Practitioners also master the ability to dissociate from negative events as well as associate into positive events effortlessly.

Chunking Chunking is a program that we naturally have that allows us to either work easily with big picture or detail. Practitioners learn how to switch between these easily.

Submodalities Our internal experience is quantified by submodalities. Our states can be changed instantly just by changing this qualities.

Accessing and building resources Practitioners work from goal setting to identifying resources to obtain our goals.

Reframing Like frames, reframing is an essential skill to help ourselves and others change the meaning of their world.

Strategies; detection, elicitation, utilization, and installation

All of us use strategies everyday. This work will allow us to eliminate negative strategies and build positive ones.

Demonstration of behavior flexibility The practitioner will need to demonstrate their ability to change their state instantly.

Verbal and non-verbal elicitation of responses

Like calibration, when we work with others, practitioners will learn how to check both verbal and non-verbal responses for congruency.
