Ni Una Mas: Remembering the Missing Women of Juárez

In dealing with the femicide in Juarez, we face three challenges:

• to break the silence of these murders whose targets are women • to end the impunity in which these crimes are involved • to call for a universal responsibility (Raül Romeva i Rueda)

Join a panel of local and international activists to discuss the femicide in Juárez and how our communities can become involved in addressing these challenges.

Panelists:

Marisela Ortiz – Human Rights Activist from Ciudad Juárez and founder of the Bring Our Daughters Back Home, a leading organization that demands justice in the numerous murders of women in Ciudad Juarez. As a result of her work denouncing abuses and advocating for human rights, she has been subjected to numerous threats of violence including death threats, and has been forced to leave her home and seek asylum in the U.S.

Since 1993, approximately 420 women and girls have been murdered in Juarez and Chihuahua, Mexico and countless others are still missing.
