RFP Response Section 11-12: Nexus acknowledges and will provide single mode fiber for all required interconnects. Fiber interconnects shall be at 10G. RFP Response Section 13-14: Nexus acknowledges and will provide Xirrus and Juniper switches to meet requirement specifications. Please see attached product documentation. RFP Response Section 15-22: Nexus acknowledges and will comply with required format. Please see pricing worksheets and “heat maps” in Appendix. RFP Response Section 23: Nexus acknowledges meeting requirements for Vendor qualification. Nexus is an authorized reseller for products provided. Nexus maintains over $10M of liability insurance and required Workman’s Comp insurance. Nexus is an authorized ERATE vendor (SPIN 143027251) and eligible to do business in the State of Louisiana as a corporate entity. Nexus also is a registered State Telecommunications Contractor and a State PSC authorized Competitive Local Exchange Provider (CLEC) for communications services. Nexus accepts complete responsibility for all facets of installation, acceptance testing, and certification. RFP Response Section 24-25: Nexus acknowledges the district right to reject and right to disqualify. RFP Response 26: 26.6 – It is understood the scope of work is an end to end total solution to provide wireless access coverage from the classrooms and selected commons areas back to the MDF in each school. Included will be equipment, wiring, installation, configuration, documentation, and training of key school personnel as well as long term maintenance and support. Nexus is prepared to meet all requirements. 26.7 – 26.9 – Executive Summary Nexus Systems is a licensed telecommunications contractor in Louisiana and the premier vendor of Xirrus wireless equipment in the State. The company began as a wireless long haul Internet vendor operating over 150 transmission towers in 19 parishes in both licensed and public band wireless service with 50 local and 10 remote employees serving our customer base. Nexus is uniquely qualified to provide wireless services to the district. Nexus has hundreds of Xirrus wireless access points in North

Page 6: Nexus Systems, Inc

6

Louisiana. The proposed plan will provide high capacity overlapping wireless coverage in all sites utilizing the Xirrus wireless series of access points. Xirrus is unique in the industry with a design allowing each AP to be custom configured with different plug-in radio links allowing much more coverage and transmission capacity. Xirrus also provides switches with high amperage POE ports to support the classroom access points where applicable and Nexus will be proposing Juniper switches with Gig-E ports for Xirrus access points and (4) 10G ports for stacking and/or backbone connectivity. The overall impact will be network capacity capable of supporting access points to an IDF with full Gig-E capacity and IDF to MDF connectivity at 10G or multiple 10G ports with Link Aggregation (LAG) configuration. The network will provide for overlapping coverage whereby the failure of one link will not destroy connectivity for an area; in most areas, adjacent nodes will overlap to provide coverage while the defective access point is replaced. The only limitations for the system will be the WAN connectivity between schools and Internet connectivity for the district. It is understood the district will be seeking expanded services in WAN and Internet which will be implemented at about the same time as this network expansion providing an overall network impact increase of over 10X of current capacity. The proposed plan will employ the Xirrus server-based network management platform in order to minimize costs and to provide in-house secure support base for the overall network management. Nexus will also provide expanded maintenance options for Xirrus access points, Juniper switches, and the Xirrus management system. 27.1 – 27.5 Company Qualifications and Experience Nexus has been designing and implementing school network systems for 16 years (since 1998) as a company. The principals, however, have been providing complex technology services for schools for over 30 years during former careers in Ouachita and Union Parishes as well as Monroe City Schools. References for WAN, Internet, and Xirrus Wireless services are provided in this proposal. In the Xirrus domain, Nexus has installed Xirrus wireless in over 100 schools as well as providing network support, warranty and maintenance on the hardware and management systems. The proposed project personnel will be:

1. Mark Stevenson, Partner, as customer contact and executive management 2. Albert Sit, Partner, as overall technical manager 3. Heath Snell as overall project manager 4. Karl Ware as wireless engineer 5. Matt Sanches as local site project manager and technical programmer 6. Tim Gordon as installation lead 7. Nexus Staff as general installation and support 8. Xirrus and Juniper Level I support through Nexus

Page 7: Nexus Systems, Inc

7

The proposed project personnel provide factory trained and certified support for the installation, configuration, and support phases of the Xirrus projects. Nexus provides over 50 local technical and field support personnel for general network design and field installation and repair. As a point of reference, Nexus personnel have recently completed Xirrus advanced training from factory personal for the devices being proposed. 28.1 – Approach and Methodologies The methodology for planning the RFP was based on research of the individual sites to determine heat map coverage of academic and commons areas to be served. Based on the coverage needed, various Xirrus access point configurations were proposed with various radio configurations for each access point. Efforts were made to allow for overlapping coverage where possible. Xirrus will allow for a stand-alone power supply (a “power brick”) or will operate via power over Ethernet (“POE”) service. However, the standard POE switch will not provide adequate power for the Xirrus units. Therefore, where a number of Xirrus access points were to collapse back to an IDF or MDF, Nexus proposed the Xirrus custom designed POE switch. Where a minor number of Xirrus units were to be installed in an IDF facility, Nexus proposed a Juniper backbone switch with 48 ports at 1G and 4 ports at 1/10G fiber backbone interconnection. Overall management, monitoring and statistics reporting will be directed from the NPSB server with Xirrus management software which will be assumed to be installed at the School Board Office. 29.1 - Proposed Plan Several points of the proposed plan have already been covered in preceding sections. The overall plan will encompass the following elements and steps:

1. Confirmation proposed plan meets district requirements. Nexus will provide any additional information needed and meet with district staff to answer any questions. Nexus will provide onsite review of any site where the district seeks confirmation or changes.

2. Contract awarded. Note any contract entered into with Nexus will be bound by RS statute where the district may void at any time for non-appropriation. The district may also amend or void any portion of the contract prior to implementation for changes needed by the district.

3. Plan scheduled. Nexus will coordinate with district personnel to affect an installation plan to accommodate the district timetable. It is expected the district will request installation on a per-school basis concentrating on the schools with higher priority needs first.

4. Wireplan installation. Nexus will install new wiring as required, test, label, and provide as-built schematic and test results.

5. Equipment ordered and staged. Nexus will, in coordination with each wireplan, order, receive, configure, test, and document each AP, switch, and other items necessary to provide an end to end solution as requested.

6. Equipment installed and tested by Nexus and confirmed by district. 7. Network monitoring implemented. In conjunction with each school installation, Nexus will

Page 8: Nexus Systems, Inc

8

configure and update Xirrus management server to properly monitor and maintain statistics for various links.

8. Project step closeouts. As each school is completed, Nexus will provide a project report card for the installation along with budget completed. It is assumed the district will request invoicing based on school installation completion milestones. Nexus will offer the district the choice of either the SPI or the BEAR discount method, although it is assume the district will request SPI (where Nexus will bill USAC direct for all discounted amounts).

30. - Project Schedule Project schedule is broken down into categories according to the proposed plan:

1. Network design confirmation. Projected 2-4 weeks for overall review with district. 2. Equipment ordering. Projected 4 weeks delivery after release of order (“ARO”). It is assumed

the district will provide a schedule of priorities where Nexus can order and stage equipment for overlapping installations.

3. Wireplan installation. Projected 2-3 weeks for each school with not more than 2 schools overlapping at the same time for wire installation. It is possible for a quicker wireplan installation; the time period is based on working within a school calendar and primarily working after hours for installation.

4. Equipment installation. Projected 1-2 weeks for each school overlapping in conjunction with wireplan installation.

5. Xirrus management software update. Projected to be completed concurrently with equipment installation.

6. Milestone closeout per school. Projected 1-3 days after equipment installation. 31-32. - Proposal Copies and Evaluation

Nexus is submitting electronic copy via Central Bidding and will deliver paper copy.

APPENDIX

Mission and Beliefs

Nexus Systems Inc. was built on the assumption that the management of information technology for schools and businesses is like legal services, accounting, graphic designing, and other bodies of knowledge, in that it is not inherently a do-it-yourself project. Knowledgeable business people need the support of quality vendors who can provide reliable hardware, software, network service, and support. Businesses must be able to depend on vendors of technology services, as they depend on other professional service providers. They must be able to place great trust in the quality of their services.

Nexus is such a vendor. It serves its clients as a trusted resource, providing them with the loyalty and commitment of a business partner and the economics of an outside resource. We provide our clients with the resources needed to run their businesses with maximum efficiency and reliability. When business information applications are mission critical, clients have the assurance that their technology needs we will be met.

Availability is also very important. The business decision makers tend to want immediate, local solutions to problems. At Nexus, we prefer to be the “first call” and the “only call” for your networking and technology needs.

We have long-established relationships with school, parish and state governmental agencies that we have served through the years. By offering professional services that include workflow and network design, management information systems support, and value-added support benefits, such as "one call" solutions, we will continue to be the business technology provider of choice. Nexus services include:

Site Layout and Network Design Hardware and Software Consulting Router and Switch Configuration Proxy Services Internet Firewall Technology In-House Internet Service Provider PC, Server & Network Supplies Maintenance Programs Video Conferencing Equipment and Services Voice over Internet Protocol RF Engineering Fiber Optics Services Distance Learning Applications Software Provider Security Video Systems Internet Service Provider

The best measure of an individual or company is from the review by others in the normal course of business. Nexus has been awarded seven United States Department of Agriculture Rural Utilities Services Broadband Community-Connect contracts to implement very high-speed wireless Internet links in communities in Louisiana, Arkansas, and Mississippi. We are honored to be considered as RUS is a professional utilities organization with exacting standards for review and approval. The normal percentage of RUS plans funded after submission is about 1%; Nexus has had 9 of the last 10 plans funded, each approved without a question or change requested. Nexus offers a proven technology record that documents a superior ability to integrate all technologies. Nexus offer the highest local investment commitment, provides best value service, which gives the best guarantee for success. Nexus stands ready to provide complete professional services and a comprehensive product line to support the customer. Nexus Systems is committed to providing the best service for all customers. We are positioned to provide a single source for hardware, software, installation and integration and technical support for all products. We have staff over the region dedicated to the education environment and understand the needs and priorities present in those demanding environments. Providing telecommunications and Internet services in addition to equipment and technical support mean we must provide a higher level of service than other vendors. Your business is our primary business, not just another sale. Thank you for reviewing this Nexus E-rate proposal. We appreciate the opportunity to serve.

6

Page 25: Nexus Systems, Inc

Page 26: Nexus Systems, Inc

8

configure and update Xirrus management server to properly monitor and maintain statistics for various links.

Virtual Chassis TechnologyThe EX3300 supports Juniper Networks Virtual Chassis

technology, allowing up to 10 switches to be interconnected

over uplink ports and be managed as a single logical device,

delivering a scalable, pay-as-you-grow solution for expanding

network environments.

When deployed in a Virtual Chassis configuration, the EX3300

switches elect a master and backup switch based on a

set of criteria or preconfigured policies. The master switch

automatically creates and updates the switching and optional

routing tables on all switches in the Virtual Chassis configuration.

Virtual Chassis technology allows switches to be added or

removed without service disruption. An EX3300 Virtual Chassis

configuration operates as a highly resilient unified system,

providing simplified management using a single IP address,

single telnet session, single command-line interface (CLI),

automatic version checking, and automatic configuration. The

EX3300 switches are also capable of local switching, so that

packets coming into a port destined for another port on the same

switch do not have to traverse the Virtual Chassis, increasing the

forwarding capacity of the switch.

The EX3300 implements the same slot/module/port numbering

schema as other Juniper Networks chassis-based products

when numbering Virtual Chassis ports, providing true chassis-like

operations. By using a consistent operating system and a single

configuration file, all switches in a Virtual Chassis configuration

are treated as a single device, simplifying overall system

maintenance and management.

Figure 1: EX3300 Virtual Chassis connections

The last two uplink ports on the EX3300 front panel are

configured by default as Virtual Chassis ports, automating Virtual

Chassis deployments when these ports are connected using

standard 10GbE SFP+ or GbE SFP transceivers (sold separately).

These two ports can also be configured as GbE or 10GbE uplinks

to aggregation devices by disabling Virtual Chassis technology.

Converged LAN EnvironmentsThe EX3300 switches provide a flexible solution for demanding

converged data, voice, and video environments. The EX3300-24P

and EX3300-48P support the IEEE 802.3at Power over Ethernet

(PoE) standard, also known as PoE+, delivering up to 30 watts of

power per port to support networked devices such as telephones,

video cameras, IEEE 802.11n wireless LAN (WLAN) access points,

and video phones. The PoE+ standard provides nearly double the

15.4 watts per port available with the IEEE 802.3af PoE standard.

Figure 2: EX3300 campus wiring closet deployments

The EX3300-48P includes a total PoE power budget of 740

watts, enabling the switch to provide the full 15.4 watts of

802.3af Class 3 PoE to all 48 ports, or the full 30 watts of PoE+

to 24 ports. The switch can support any combination of PoE and

PoE+ ports until the maximum PoE power budget of 740 watts is

exhausted.

The EX3300-24P includes a total power budget of 405 watts,

enabling the switch to provide the full 15.4 watts of PoE power to

all 24 ports, or the full 30 watts of PoE+ to 13 attached devices.

The switch can support any combination of PoE and PoE+ ports

until the maximum PoE power budget of 405 watts is exhausted.

There are two PoE power mode settings on the EX3300 switches:

• Static mode, which allows customers to specify the

maximum PoE power setting on an individual port

• Class mode, which allows end devices to specify PoE class

and negotiate whether the switch can provide PoE power to

the device

The EX3300 also supports the industry-standard Link Layer

Discovery Protocol (LLDP) and LLDP-Media Endpoint Discovery

(LLDP-MED), which enable the switches to automatically

discover Ethernet-enabled devices, determine their power

requirements, and assign virtual LAN (VLAN) parameters. LLDP-

MED-based granular PoE management allows the EX3300 to

negotiate PoE usage down to a fraction of a watt on powered

devices, enabling more efficient PoE utilization across the switch.

The EX3300 supports the Institute of Electrical and Electronics

Engineers (IEEE) 802.3az standard for Energy Efficient Ethernet

(EEE) functionality, reducing power consumption of copper

physical layers (PHY) during periods of low link utilization.

In addition, the EX3300 supports rich quality-of-service (QoS)

functionality for prioritizing data, voice, and video traffic. The

switches support eight QoS queues on every port, enabling them to

maintain multilevel, end-to-end traffic prioritization. The EX3300

also supports a wide range of scheduling options, such as priority

and shaped deficit weighted round-robin (SDWRR) scheduling.

An optional enhanced license for supporting additional L3

protocols such as OSPF, Internet Group Management Protocol

(IGMP v1/v2/v3), and Protocol Independent Multicast (PIM) will

be supported in future. An external redundant power system

(RPS) delivering additional power resiliency is also available.

Data Center Gigabit Ethernet Server AccessThe EX3300 switches are optimized for GbE server access

deployments in the data center, with front-to-back and back-

to-front cooling. The four SFP+ uplink ports on the EX3300 can

operate at 10 Gbps simultaneously, offering up to 20GbE of uplink

connectivity to each of the dual aggregation switches.

Figure 3: Data center top-of-rack deployments

SecurityThe EX3300 switches fully interoperate with Juniper Networks

Unified Access Control, which consolidates all aspects of a user’s

identity, device, and location, enabling administrators to enforce

access control and security down to the individual port or user

levels. Working as an enforcement point within the UAC, the

EX3300 provides both standards-based 802.1X port-level access

control and Layer 2-4 policy enforcement based on user identity,

location, and/or device. A user’s identity, device type, machine

posture check, and location can be used to not only grant or deny

access but also to determine the duration of access. If access is

granted, the switch assigns the user to a specific VLAN based on

authorization levels. The switch can also apply QoS policies or

mirror user traffic to a central location for logging, monitoring, or

threat detection by intrusion prevention systems (IPS).

The EX3300 also provides a full complement of port security

features, including Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP)

snooping, dynamic ARP inspection (DAI), and media access control

(MAC) limiting to defend against internal and external spoofing,

man-in-the-middle, and denial-of-service (DoS) attacks.

In addition, the EX3300 switches are hardware ready (with

software support available in a future release) to support

IEEE 802.1ae MACSec, providing support for link layer data

confidentiality, data integrity, and data origin authentication.

Junos Operating SystemThe EX3300 switches run the same Junos OS used by other EX

Series Ethernet Switches, as well as Juniper routers and Juniper

Networks SRX Series Services Gateways. By utilizing a common

operating system, Juniper delivers a consistent implementation

and operation of control plane features across all products.

To maintain that consistency, Junos OS adheres to a highly

disciplined development process that uses a single source code,

follows a single quarterly release train, and employs a highly

available modular architecture that prevents isolated failures

from bringing an entire system down.

These attributes are fundamental to the core value of the

software, enabling all Junos OS-powered products to be updated

simultaneously with the same software release. All features are

fully regression tested, making each new release a true superset

of the previous version; customers can deploy the software

with complete confidence that all existing capabilities will be

maintained and operate in the same way.

High AvailabilityThe EX3300 line of Ethernet switches is designed to support

many of the same failover capabilities and high availability (HA)

functionality as the Juniper Networks EX4200 line of Ethernet

switches with Virtual Chassis technology.

Each EX3300 switch is capable of functioning as a Routing

Engine when deployed in a Virtual Chassis configuration. When

two or more EX3300 switches are interconnected in a Virtual

Chassis configuration, all member switches share a single control

plane. Junos OS automatically initiates an election process to

assign a master (active) and backup (hot-standby) Routing

Engine. An integrated Layer 2 and Layer 3 graceful Routing Engine

switchover (GRES) feature maintains uninterrupted access to

applications, services, and IP communications in the unlikely

event of a master Routing Engine failure.

When more than two switches are interconnected in a Virtual

Chassis configuration, the remaining switch elements act as line

cards and are available to assume the backup Routing Engine

position should the designated master fail. Master, backup

and line card priority status can be assigned by the network

operations team to dictate the order of ascension. This N+1

Routing Engine redundancy, coupled with GRES, the nonstop

routing (NSR) and, in the future, the nonstop bridging (NSB)

capabilities of Junos OS, ensures a smooth transfer of control

plane functions following unexpected failures.

The EX3300 also supports the following HA features:

• Redundant trunk group: To avoid the complexities of

Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) without sacrificing network

resiliency, the EX3300 employs redundant trunk groups to

provide the necessary port redundancy and simplify switch

configuration.

• Cross-member link aggregation: Cross-member link

aggregation allows redundant link aggregation connections

between devices in a single Virtual Chassis configuration,

providing an additional level of reliability and availability.

• Non-Stop Bridging (NSB) and Non-stop Routing (NSR):

NSB and NSR on the EX3300 switch ensure control plane

protocols, states and tables are synchronized between

master and backup REs to prevent protocol flaps or

convergence issues following a Routing Engine failover.

• Non-Stop Software Upgrade (NSSU): With NSSU, all

members of an EX3300 Virtual Chassis configuration can

be upgraded with a single command. Mission-critical traffic

can be configured as a link aggregate across multiple Virtual

Chassis switch members, ensuring minimal disruption during

the upgrade process.

Simplified Management and OperationsWhen deployed in a Virtual Chassis configuration, the EX3300

dramatically simplifies network management. Up to 10

interconnected EX3300 switches can be managed as a single

device utilizing a single Junos OS image file and a single

configuration file, reducing the overall number of units to monitor

and manage. When the Junos OS is upgraded on the master

switch in an EX3300 Virtual Chassis configuration, the software

is automatically upgraded on all other member switches at the

same time.

The EX3300 includes port profiles that allow network

administrators to automatically configure ports with security,

QoS, and other parameters based on the type of device

connected to the port. Six preconfigured profiles are available,

including default, desktop, desktop plus IP phone, WLAN access

point, routed uplink, and Layer 2 uplink. Users can select from

the existing profiles or create their own and apply them through

the command-line interface (CLI), J-Web Software interface, or

Junos Space network management system.

In addition, a feature called System Snapshot makes a copy

of all software files used to run the switch, including the Junos

operating system, the active configuration and the rescue

configuration, that can be used to reboot the switch at the next

power-up or as a backup boot option. The Junos OS software

can also be preinstalled on a flash drive and used to boot the

EX3300 at any time.

Another feature, called automatic software download, enables

network administrators to easily upgrade the EX3300 using

the DHCP message exchange process to download and install

software packages. Users simply configure the automatic

software download feature on EX3300 switches acting as DHCP

clients and establish a path to the server where the software

package file is installed. The server then communicates the path

to the software package file through DHCP server messages.

An EZ touchless provisioning feature allows a DHCP server to

push configuration details and software images to multiple

switches at bootup.

Three system management options are available for the EX3300

line. The standard Junos OS CLI management interface offers

the same granular capabilities and scripting parameters found in

any router powered by the Junos operating system. The EX3300

also includes the integrated J-Web interface, an embedded web-

based device manager that allows users to configure, monitor,

troubleshoot, and perform system maintenance on individual

switches via a browser-based graphical interface.

Finally, EX3300 fault, configuration and performance data can be

exported to leading third-party management systems such as HP

OpenView, IBM Tivoli, and Computer Associates Unicenter software,

providing a complete, consolidated view of network operations.

Enhanced Limited Lifetime WarrantyThe EX3300 includes an enhanced limited lifetime hardware

warranty that provides return-to-factory switch replacement for

as long as the original purchaser owns the product. The warranty

includes lifetime software updates, advanced shipping of spares

within one business day, and 24x7 Juniper Networks Technical

Assistance Center (JTAC) support for 90 days after the purchase

date. Power supplies and fan trays are covered for a period of five

years. For complete details, please visit www.juniper.net/support/

The XT access switch series is an enterprise class, advanced Layer 2+ switching platform. The XT access switch series along with the Xirrus XR wireless LAN AP/Array series delivers enterprises a unified access layer that is simple to manage yet provides powerful capabilities to support advanced applications. XT switches and XR wireless LAN AP/Arrays are manageable by a single management platform, the Xirrus Management System (XMS), available in an on-premise virtual instance or a cloud-based version.

XT Series access switches are available in two models—24-port and 48-port GigE switches. Both switches have four 10GigE SFP+ uplinks, which can be run in conjunction with all the copper interfaces, for high bandwidth access to applications and content.

The XT Series access switches support advanced power management with 802.3at (PoE+) and 802.3af (PoE) on every port. Power is dynamically managed across all switch ports to power access points, VoIP phones, IP surveillance cameras, and other PoE/PoE+ compliant devices.

The XT Series access switches can be deployed at the campus edge, in remote offices, and in workgroup environments. The access network can be virtualized with stacking over the SFP+ ports, enabling IT administrators to expand the edge capacity easily and simplify management of the entire stack with a single IP address.

Key Features and Benefits

“Single Pane of Glass” Management of Wired and Wireless Networks

The Xirrus unified access layer is managed* by the Xirrus Management System (XMS), providing single pane of glass management for both Xirrus wired and wireless networks. The XMS is a comprehensive platform that provides in-depth visibility into users, devices, applications, and traffic on the network, in addition to complete configuration management of the wired and wireless networks. The XMS is available in on-premise and cloud-hosted options.

Ample Power for Unified Access Networks

The XT Series access switches provide Power-over-Ethernet (PoE/PoE+) to power IP-based devices such as IP phones, wireless APs, and IP video cameras. The XT-5024 provides up to 370 W and XT-5048 up to 779W of power. The intelligent

power management scheme built into the switches optimizes the power distribution based on the capabilities of the end IP devices. Power is dynamically pooled from the power supply across all the ports. The XT-5048 switches also support external redundant power supplies (RPS) for high availability.

Auto Activation and Zero-Touch Provisioning

The XT Series access switches support* Xirrus Mobilize—a cloud-based provisioning service that automates and simplifies IT deployment with plug-and-play networking. Upon initial power up at installation, Xirrus switches are auto-discovered by Mobilize which automatically updates to latest firmware levels and provides initial configuration. This zero-touch provisioning completely eliminates manual IT intervention, streamlining processes to configure and provision the switches. Xirrus Mobilize can be implemented with or without the XMS across a unified wired and wireless Xirrus network.

Scalable Network Edge with Stacking

Multiple switches can be stacked together to simplify management using one IP address. Switches can be added into the stack as the capacity demand grows, for a maximum of eight nodes per stack.

Advanced Security

The XT Series access switches provide advanced security features, particularly essential to support guest access and onboarding of non-IT issued devices. The switches support AAA based on RADIUS and 802.1x. IP spoofing with IP source guard blocks undesirable traffic with ACLs and provides port security with port/MAC locking.

5GHz Optimization

With its 2.4GHz and 5GHz radios (both software programmable to either band), the XR-620 will help you easily make the transition to a 5GHz centric network, when you are ready.

ACExpress™ 802.11ac Speed Optimization Technology

Xirrus’ ACExpress™ leverages dual concurrent 5GHz radio operation to ensure that 802.11ac clients communicate at 802.11ac speeds without being affected by the slower speeds of legacy 802.11n clients. One 5GHz radio automatically services 802.11ac clients and the other 5GHz radio services 802.11n clients—thus ensuring that 802.11ac/n clients are segregated to maximize throughput.

Bring Your Own Device

Integration with Xirrus Access Manager (XAM) allows guests and employees alike to use personal wireless devices while the XR-620 enforces appropriate access policies.

Uncompromising Performance

Distributed architecture with Integrated controller and multi core processor delivers twice the speed of 802.11n 3x3 APs. The XR-620 AP delivers linear scalability, high resiliency and superior network performance by processing network traffic at the network edge.

XMS Specifications and Sizing Guidelines

The system and virtual machine requirements to run XMS various with each individual installation. Various factors such as station (client) count, the frequency of inter-AP/Array roaming, the number of rogue APs “seen” by the system, and the general variability of the Wi-Fi environment will all impact the following sizing sizing guidelines. Note that the table below outlines suggested guidelines for an “average installation.” Generally speaking it is best to err on the side of caution and use the most amount of CPU and memory possible for XMS.
