SALESFORCE INTEGRATION DEMO PART 1:Creating the Nexus Custom Fields

• This 1st demo video will show you how to create the custom Nexus fields in your Salesforce CRM. These custom fields must be created before you setup your integration from Nexus to Salesforce.

• Click here for the link to the package (V1.5) detailed in the demo video that will help you create the custom fields. A package is a Salesforce tool that allows easy creation/update/deletion of custom fields.

• Click here to read more about packages.

• Remember! You must be logged into your Salesforce account before using the package to create the Nexus custom fields

SALESFORCE INTEGRATION DEMO PART 2A:Integration Setup and Export

• This 2nd demo video will show you how to:• Setup the integration from Nexus to Salesforce• Run an export via the integration

• Please note: The Salesforce API token expires after 2 hours of no use. This means you may need to turn on your integration again when you come to run your next export. Check the integration setup and if your switch is off, turn it back on again and complete the setup once more.

HOWS DO COMPANIES & CONTACTS GET MATCHED TO EXISTING DATA IN SALESFORCE?

• For Accounts, Salesforce will use the domain and country against the Nexus account to match to an existing account in Salesforce.

• Domain/Country matches – the existing Salesforce account is updated.

• No domain or country or combination of domain and country does not match – a new Salesforce account is created for the Nexus version of the record.

• NOTE – If you have provided a Salesforce Account ID with your tracked accounts, the connector will use the ID as the primary match key instead of the domain/country.

• For Contacts, Salesforce will use the email against the contact to match to an existing contact in Salesforce.

• Email matches – the existing Salesforce contact is updated.

• No email or email does not match – a new Salesforce contact is created for the Nexus version of the record.

WHAT IF DUPLICATES ARE CREATED IN SALESFORCE?

Duplicates could be created if:

• Nexus contacts do not have emails

• Nexus accounts do not have domains*

*60% of Nexus accounts have a domain populated.

When an account or contact is updated or created by the integration, a Salesforce ID is pinged back to us, so that next time the same account or contact is exported, we know the associated Salesforce ID and the correct record in Salesforce is updated (even if it was created as a new record in the first export).

Salesforce has a function whereby you can merge duplicate companies and duplicate contacts. If you do merge duplicates created during the process, you will need to retain the record created by Nexus as the ‘Master’. This is because we have had the Salesforce ID pinged back to us for that record and will continue to update that version in future exports.

If the Nexus created record is not retained as the ‘Master’, then potentially duplicates can be recreated in future exports, or companies from Nexus are not exported as the Salesforce ID pinged back to us no longer exists.
