Next Sunday, March 3 - Leading Lives of Justice, Love and Hope – Rev. Connie Simon with the Park/Dendy Family Band. This year’s canvass theme is Leading Lives of Justice, Love and Hope. What does that mean for us as Unitarian Universalists? How do we support the work of the congregation in a way that allows us all to lead lives filled with justice, love and hope?
The Flowers this Morning are from Lela Ruth Cooper in memory of her father, Murry Wesley Probst who was born Feb. 26, 1910, on a farm near Kennedale, TX. Lela is named for his mother Lela and his sister, Ruth.
Sunday Morning Volunteer Program (MVP) Team Four is handling the duties of greeting, ushering, providing coffee service and clean-up today. Team Four is led by Jenny Krueger. She is joined by Tim Kraus, Carol Lloyd, Joe Busby, Jan Connelly, Beth McGrew, David Johnson, Denys Steele and Mike Krueger.

Today in Sunday School your prekindergartner and kindergartner will learn that both boys and girls can. Your first to third grader will learn about abolitionist, suffragette and Unitarian Susan B. Anthony. Your fourth and fifth grader will learn about the Hopi bean festival, Powamu. Upstairs, your junior high youth will explore spiritual themes through art and discussion, while your senior high youth explores ethics in everyday life.
The Opening Hearts Ableism Team invites everyone to attend a short Listening Circle immediately after today’s sermon. We will meet in the Sanctuary from 11:15am-11:45am to introduce the Ableism Team goals and discuss Rev. Connie’s sermon on the Disability Day of Mourning and what it means to have a truly inclusive ministry. Childcare will be available. Today at 11: 30 in the Ellen Hall Room-- The Peace Committee will
be hosting Central American immigrants who will give us first-hand
accounts about the conditions which are sending so many asylum seekers
to our southern borders. There will be a tamale lunch prepared by native
Guatemalans who will also be joining us. Suggested donation of $10 to
defray cost of food. Any additional money collected will be presented to
our guests with our gratitude. Check with us at the at the Ellen Hall
Room to see if there is still space if you have not previously signed up.
