GIGGLES Giggles, the slimy monster was very naughty. He

was cheeky to his dad. He was scared because

his dad was going to kick his butt.

He was hiding in a bush in the forest.

At the same time, Mitchell, Amy, Tynen, Brydey

and Riley were going hunting in the forest. They

were hunting for monsters.

Suddenly Amy heard a noise. It was coming from

a bush.

“WOOOH!” It sounded like a ghost.

The kids were not scared. They were brave.

They crept towards the bush.

They saw a trail of blue slime. They followed the

slime. They found a blue monster. It was

Giggles. He was bigger than an elephant.

Giggles saw Amy. She was pretty, so Giggles ate

her.

Giggles saw Mitchell. He looked delicious, so he

ate him.

Giggles saw Brydey. He was still hungry, so he

ate her.

Giggles saw Riley. She looked yummy, so he ate

her.

And then, Giggles saw Tynen. He tried to catch

him, but Tynen was too fast.

Tynen got away, and punched the slimy monster

in the belly. Giggles was knocked out.

The kids climbed out of Giggles’ giant belly.

“We have caught a monster!” they yelled.

THE BLOB OF BLUE JELLY

One night, a big blob of blue jelly came out of a

garbage bin. It had yellow dots on the top of its

head.

It was thirsty, so it wobbled over to a swimming

pool. It drank all of the water. It drank so much

water, it exploded.

And then, it came back alive.

Inside the house, Alyssa, Kyah, Kyle and Indi

were asleep. They all woke up when they heard

the explosion.

Kyah, Kyle and Indi went outside to have a look.

Alyssa stayed inside because she was scared.

Kyle saw a big, blob of jelly. It had massive,

rainbow possum eyes.

The blob growled. It had sharp teeth.

Kyle ran to the shed and got a net. He threw the

net onto the blob. It was trapped.

Indi was very strong. She pulled a tree out and

hit the jelly blob. The blob roared.

Alyssa ran out of the house. She had some

spoons and some jelly cups. She gave everyone a

spoon each, and the kids filled up the cups with

blue jelly.

Kyle was lucky. He had yellow dots in his jelly.

The blue blob was gone, and the kids ate jelly

forever.

Ideas from Alyssa, Kyah, Kyle and Indi

What is it, and

where did it come

from?

Tell the story!

THE ALIEN SLIME Talitha, Benji, Seth, Xavier and Annabel were

walking to school.

Annabel saw a spaceship in the bushes.

Benji found a trail of slime.

Xavier said, “ lets follow that trail!”

The kids followed the trail up to the spaceship.

The spaceship was open. The kids went inside.

They saw an alien slime. It was blue. It had

yellow polkadots on its leg and its arms. It had

dark eyes and slimy feet.

The doors shut and the kids were trapped.

Talitha found a hammer and she smashed a

window. The broken glass went everywhere.

Some glass hit the alien slime.

The alien started crying. Seth pulled the glass

out of the alien slime.

The slime said, “thank you!”

The slime started up the spaceship. The

spaceship took off with the kids inside. The

slime kept the kids forever.

Jacquie Marshall July Fundraiser

My Town Children’s Design Competition

Our mission is to encourage action in our community & give the children of Deniliquin a helping

hand in being creative & allowing our younger generation to help improve our town. Also giving

them a voice to put forward their ideas & not only listen but act on them & incorporate them

into making our town the best it can be. Children are major users of public space, experiencing it

from a different perspective to anyone else & we need to embrace this.

Competition: Put forward your idea on how to make our town a better place to live & more interesting

for locals & visitors alike. (Ideas could include – A chalk play area for younger children in our park, decorate picnic tables in our parks to brighten them up, children’s cooking classes once a month or a small sensory garden in our park with a water fea-ture & mosaics by the children to be enjoyed by the community) these are just examples & I cannot wait to

read all of the exciting ideas that the children will come up with. Please keep ideas on a small scale so they

can be made possible, ideas like Cinemas or Mini Golf are too big for this competition.
