MT WAVERLEY PRIMARY SCHOOL

2010 CHRISTMAS CAROLS

THURSDAY 9th DECEMBER 7.00pm

The evening will include a sausage sizzle between 5.30pm and 6.45pm, organized by

Parents and Friends.

Students, staff and families will be seated on the new basketball area for the evening and it

is suggested that each child bring along a towel or small mat on which to sit. The

Christmas Raffle will be drawn at the opening of the program, which will begin promptly

at 7.00pm.

This evening is one of the biggest events in the school year for staff, students and their

families. We like to see all our families joining us to share this special evening, however it

has become increasingly difficult to ensure that performers receive the attention they

deserve and that students and staff have a clear path to access the performance area and

their designated seating areas. In the past, there has also been a major issue with adults

standing directly in front of the performers to take photos. This has caused a great deal of

frustration for the audience, as their view is impeded, and for the staff and students

running the evening as it has held up the proceedings.

We are therefore seeking your support with the following:

The area and seating designated for staff and students should be left clear.

Children performing should be seated by 7.00pm

All MWPS children should remain seated with their class group until ALL

performances are over.

Toddlers and children who are not MWPS performers should be seated with families

No photos will be permitted from the area in front of the performers

Thank you for being considerate in all the above requests. We look forward to a wonderful

evening and hope the weather is kind.

Lynn Norman, Assistant Principal

A reminder that the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (DEECD) and the school has a Smoke Free Policy whilst any person is on school property. DEECD also advises that events should be alcohol free when students are in attendance.
