Have We All Gone Mad By Jasmin Farnum

Welcome Readers

Enough Cents to Make Change

did well at it.

Unfortunately, or fortunately

those of us who face depressed

finances daily,

know how to

make a dollar out

of fifty cents.

We know how to live lean and

still eat the fat. When Mayor

Bloomberg says we will need

to “do more with less”, many

of us are already way ahead on

this particular game. In com-

munities of hard working, liv-

ing paycheck to paycheck, rob-

bing Peter to pay Paul folks—

We’ve been there, done that

and hold the stock options on

it. Next.

Is it just me or has anyone else

notice you pay more for less?

Not only does it appear you

must pay more for reduced con-

tents—you must digest substi-

tuted ingredients. First, you

should have recognized the

containers held mostly air and

you paid the same price. Sec-

ond, the Brand giants figured

you wouldn’t mind if they re-

duce the size of the containers,

content because they add even

more air for good measure and

charge you more for much less.

At times I feel like Neo in the

Matrix. There must be an alter-

nate reality to this madness.

We are a country that has some

of the greatest minds in the

world. We are a land of free

speech, trade and thinkers. We

are the nation under God indi-

visible, with liberty and justice

for all. What happen to sensi-

bility and common sense?

I remember when days were

really lean. This is not the first

economic crisis, depression or

recession Americans have

seen. Our senses cannot be so

dulled that we do not perceive

the seriousness of the finan-

cial crisis. Perhaps, a few of

us still remember having to

or our parents having to put

gas in their cars according to

the last digit of their license

plate. Anyone remember the

No Frills aisle in the super-

markets? We made do and

live each day in excellence of what

I am—A Life Change Agent.

I impart to each of you the power to

make change with every sense you

possess and then to be bold

enough to share that change with

us. We are a monthly email publi-

cation and vehicle for advertising

your products, business event or

showcasing your creativity.

The mission of Life Changers’

Enough Cents to Make Change

is to empower, encourage and

inspire its’ readers to make

change. Everything we have

need of is in us. Our greatest

gift from God is we have the

ability, capacity and capability

to do anything, to create our

destiny and overcome any ob-

stacles and make the life we

dream of. You chose to make

the life you dream of and we

will suggest economic sound

suggestions on how to achieve

your dreams.

Greatness is in each of us. If

you do not know it— you will

get to know it. Someone great

once told me, “We all should

be life change agents.” That

idea stuck with me. I decided

You may not believe you are your most

valuable asset. Your ability to provide for

yourself and family is the one thing that

oftenis not properly protected. We cannot

drive a car or purchase a home without

insuring it. However, your inability to pay

for either of these depreciating assets has

far reaching ramifications.

Why is it we do not have enough resources

to adequately cover our health insurance if

we can afford coverage at all. Have you

noticed that disability insurance payments

do not cover your basic needs? Ulti-

mately, the family to whom you gave all

the things you never had. They will not

have what they need if you die and have

not protected their future.

Living Life Abundantly in a Downturn Economy

When he struck the rock, water gushed

out, and streams flowed abundantly. But

can he also give us food? Can he supply

meat for his people? Psalms 78:20 NIV

In Psalms 78 the psalmist reminds of the

hard journey of the Israelites. In the midst

of the wilderness, they had abundance

spite of disobedience, faithlessness, and

rebellion.

In an apparent barren place they thrived

and had abundant provision. Their clothes

and shoes did not wear out. Their bellies

were filled when they hungered and when

they thirsted water like streams of the sea

came from a rock.

I want to remind you—you have life abun-

dantly as a promise from a Man that shall

not lie. We are a people of choice not

chance. We are a people who have been

given the ability to create wealth. Lack is

not in the master plan unless you are living

under the curse. It does not matter what

the world’s economy does. You as the chil-

dren of The King...are called to live a Pal-

ace lifestyle. Where are your Keys?

Protecting Your Most Valuable Asset—YOU!

“I never saw the car, that took

away my ability to earn a living.

In few seconds, my life changed

and I wondered how I would

make it.”

The Mothers’ Means Campaign is symbolic

of women’s strength, courage, endurance and

stamina in spite of adversities. Not to exclude

men who also fit this description, but this call

is for all women who are ready to campaign

for a healthier and wealthier life.

We all make or have made New Year’s reso-

lutions; we know how it is when the year ends

and the resolution is unrealized. The

Mother’s Means Campaign challenges our

accountability because we are not alone. For

any number of reasons you may need to get

spiritual, physically and or financially fit.

Getting to that healthy point spiritually, men-

tally physically and financially is a journey—

one we all have or will have to embark on.

Let’s walk it out together, encouraging, vent-

ing or whatever it takes to get there. We as

whole will get there.

The Mothers’ Means Campaign seeks to em-

power, encourage and inspire women locally,

nationally and internationally from all ethnic,

religion, social and national backgrounds to

reclaim their first their spirit, mind, body,

finances and then restore others. As she re-

claims her well-being she is refreshed in her

position as the builder of her household and

community.

der the weather, over your ideal weight, bur-

ied under a mountain of debt or have trouble

saving for that special getaway, join our

Mothers’ Means Campaign and become a life

change agent.

So the next generation will know.

What System are You Operating Under?

The first issue of Enough Cents to Make

Change embraces my African-American

culture and the pride I feel in being a

Black American woman who is

equipped to make a difference. What I

am proud of in this historical year are

the milestones we as Americans have

accomplished despite the odds. Presi-

dent Barack Obama is because of every

man, woman and child who dared be-

lieve we could and would one day stand

where we are today.

Not because our President is a black

man, a biracial man but because he is a

man who is proud of every part that

makes him who and what he is. We

have wept bitter tears, drank many cups

of gall, and have dreamed with the

knowledge we would make it to the

promised land as the Prophet Dr. King

declared. The African-American flag

depicted here has significant and sym-

bolic meaning. It is not the only African

American flag created to honor our con-

tributions to the world but it is one of the

more telling of Black Americans strug-

gle and triumph.

I would that all men and women of every

nation honor a people who were de-

spised and rejected yet rose. Thank

you Marcus, Martin, Malcolm, John,

Robert, and every unsung hero and

heroine.

The Flag’s Meaning

1st star announces that all humankind was born out

of the womb of Africa.

2nd star informs with pride that the Africans gave

rise to the first civilizations and kingdoms of the

world.

3rd star depicts the cruel abduction of Africans

from their original roots.

4th star vows that African Americans will never

forget the holocaust of the Middle Passage and the

millions who suffered and died during the terrible

crossing.

5th star recalls the unholy bondage of African

Americans prior to the abolishment of slavery in

America.

6th star praises all those African Americans who

defied and rebelled against injustice and genocide

in America.

7th star is memorial to African Americans who

silently or aggressively defended and preserved the

Constitution of the United States of America.

8th star recognizes the strength of the African

American family and its inner spiritual belief in

universal brotherhood.

9th star is a testament to the strength and tenacity of

African Americans to emerge victorious despite

any adversity or challenge.

10th star honors African Americans for their ac-

complishments in making the American dream a

reality.

11th star calls for African Americans to probe their

history and to celebrate their culture and heritage.

12th. star signifies the achievements of African

Americans through hard work, scholarship and

determination.

Anything that you do not respect, you will destroy or

it will destroy you. All things have a operating sys-

tem. Your body is made up of systems that is how the

body was made to function. When you injure or fail to

take of any of body’s system you will have a problem.

God’s blessed us gave us a fully operational system.

Today, many of us cannot recognize what system we

are operating under. Every nation, government and institution has a system that it people are

require to operate under. We their people

violate the principles or laws of that establish

operating system there is a penalty. It is that plain and simple.

If you do not believe me check the penal sys-

tems, check the hospitals and mental wards,

check your bank accounts and homes. If your

supply is diminishing, and you are feeling out

of control, you are experiencing a disruption in

your Genesis 1:28 operational system.

What the African American Flag Represents

Page 3

And God blessed them, and said unto

them, Be fruitful, and multiply and replen-

ish the earth and subdue it and have do-

minion…[Genesis 1:28]

13th star is a symbol of Pan African

unity.

14th star leads African Americans

into the future with honor, truth and

the dream of a greater tomorrow.

The Stripes’ Meaning

The Green stripe reminds us of our living

earth and roots to all humanity buried deep

in African soil.

The Yellow stripe symbolize the moral

excellence and spiritual wealth of African

Americans as they interact with all diverse

cultures of America.

The Black stripe underscores black fami-

lies and their significant economic, spiri-

tual, social, and political contributions to

America.

The White stripe warns African Americans

to be constantly vigilant of forces that call

for death of freedom and surrender of

rights guarantee to all by the Constitution

of the United States of America.

The Blue stripe illustrates lofty skies that

will always extend a bridge between Afri-

can and Africa.

The Red stripe tells of the passionate and

soulful fire within the hearts of African

Americans and that their bloodshed in

defense of freedom shall not be in vain.

This is not the sum and total of everything

we are for it has not been revealed what is

yet to come. We stand in a long line of

people whose journey was an undertaking

of pain and glory. For drop of bloodshed

and tear stained face...To God be the

Glory. We made it.

Yesterday, I felt overwhelmed by all the things I had need to do.

I needed to wake the children, dress them, prepare their breakfast and

lunch for school, while contemplating what we'd have for dinner.

I needed to get them to the babysitter, school and get myself to work by

eight-thirty a.m., to answer calls, return calls and dodge calls.

Then there was the groceries that needed to be purchased, laundry to be

washed, dinner to be cooked and bedtime stories to be told. Just as I

began to feel weary, I realized I had forgotten YOU and I remembered

gratefully, I AM NOT ALONE.

Thank YOU Lord I can make it *VICTORIOUSLY through this day. I Am not Alone by J. Farnum-Manning

veyor, first of stabilization and then of

growth. This campaign will begin

slowly but will steadily gather a faith-

ful following and momentum reach-

ing those who dare to dream and be-

come an agent of Life Change.

The Mission The Mothers’ Means Campaign seeks to empower, encourage and inspire women locally, nationally and internationally from all ethnic, religious, social and national back-grounds to reclaim first their own spirit, mind, body, and finances and then restore others. As she reclaims her well-being she is refreshed in her position as the builder of her house-hold and community. Women have placed their lives on

hold for far too long to be super-

woman to someone else and it is time

to initiate a change. Even in this

modern society, with all its advances

in technology, education and health,

women have not received recognition

for the part they play in the scheme of

things. There are several reasons this

remains the case but none of the rea-

soning justifies the disparaging divide

between women and men in today’s

world. Women’s roles as mother,

sister, aunt, friend, neighbor and wife

are multitasking positions, in any one

of which she is constantly intertwin-

ing, commingling and interacting

24/7. With all this high-profiled, low-

compensated and under-recognized

effort it is no wonder many burn out.

It is urgent that we begin to refocus

our view and recognize our forthcom-

ing abundant life. So much is lost

when women, especially mothers, are

worn down spiritually, mentally,

physically and financially. Women

are the foundation of spirituality and

humanity; she establishes the homes,

communities and the world that we

live. We recognize that not all cul-

tures embrace the vitality of a woman

but this does not mitigate the reality--

she is the core of life. The planted

seed dies without the soil that holds

the nutrients that cause it to mani-

fest—this is a spiritual and universal

law. (“And she shall bring forth…”

Matthew 1:21) Women are multipliers

and will increase everything and any-

thing that is given to her.

Mothers have a special relationship

within her family, community and

world. As she performs at an ideal

level. she provides strength, courage,

education, values and supply meaning

to give order to her family, commu-

nity and world. There is an immedi-

ate and desperate need to restore

women to their best level in every

aspect of life. Women are consumed

with stress, which kills them slowly,

causes disease in the body and mind

and creates a lack in their ability to

create. We believe as a result, we as

a society are experiencing an in-

creased in overall despondency in our

communities. We witness more gen-

erational diseases, increase deviant

criminal behaviors, decreased energy

levels and attention spans in children,

increased incidents of depression in

the family unit and more disenfran-

chisement in our middle and low in-

come communities.

The Mothers’ Means Campaign an-

swers the tough question of how to

rebuild our foundation. Women his-

torically have been able to overcome

obstacles and do more with less while

seemingly doing the impossible, but

she needs to be refreshed. There is

nothing new under the sun but there is

a new day ahead. The Mothers’

Means Campaign serves as a pur-

This story can fit 175-225 words.

If your newsletter is folded and mailed, this

story will appear on the back. So, it’s a

good idea to make it easy to read at a

glance.

A question and answer session is a good

way to quickly capture the attention of

readers. You can either compile questions

that you’ve received since the last edition

or you can summarize some generic ques-

tions that are frequently asked about your

organization.

A listing of names and titles of managers in

your organization is a good way to give

your newsletter a personal touch. If your

organization is small, you may want to list

the names of all employees.

If you have any prices of standard products

or services, you can include a listing of

those here. You may want to refer your

readers to any other forms of communica-

tion that you’ve created for your organiza-

tion.

You can also use this space to remind read-

ers to mark their calendars for a regular

event, such as a breakfast meeting for ven-

dors every third Tuesday of the month, or a

biannual charity auction.

If space is available, this is a good place to

insert a clip art image or some other

graphic.
