Before School Care We are seeking expressions of interest from families who may be keen to have a Before School Care Service program at our school. As you know, we currently have After School Care which many children enjoy. Possible hours of operation could be 7.15am – 8.45am. The session fee cost for a permanent booking would be $17 (before the Child Care Subsidy). The session fee cost for a casual booking would be $19 (before Child Care Subsidy). We would need 8-10 students to make this viable. If this may be of interest to your family, please contact Genevieve or the school: ph: 66895208 Email: [email protected]
Enrolments 2020 Our anticipated enrolment figure for next
year is 83. We need 78 students to maintain
our four permanent classroom teachers so
this enrolment figure is very positive! I will
provide advice about our classroom teachers
and structures later in the year. Thank you

Our children are loving our brand new

1/2 News
The 1/2 class has had an enriching start to the term:
We learnt about places around Australia like Hobart,
Uluru, Kakadu and the Daintree rainforest. We are
making postcards to send to a school in Hobart.
(Lotte)
We went into the
trees and got 2 sticks.
The next day we hot
glued them together.
We chose our wool
colours and then
wove around the
sticks and keep going
until your wool is out.
Then you get another
bit of wool and keep
going. It was fun and
I like my weaving.
(Cooper)
After swimming we
were making things
for challenges like
bugs, bridges, floating
raft and a house that
wouldn’t blow down.
It was fun to have a
challenge and I liked
working in our group.
(Sonny)
Happy Birthday
Aaishween, Cooper & Bodhi,
for last week and to
Jemma, Tess & Oriel for this week.
Best wishes from all your
friends at school!
Donations Wanted!
If anyone has any fabric we could use as headbands and costumes for an African Performing
Arts item, it would be very appreciated! Anything in reds, browns, yellows or anything you
think reminds you of Africa would be very gratefully accepted! Also, if anyone has any
Madonna microphones we could borrow, or a cat ‘onesie’, that would be wonderful.
Many thanks, Kim
Friendship and Learning We strive to continually promote principles of inclusion,
acceptance and celebrations of uniqueness, respect for
cultures that may be different to our own, and making sure
that we don’t unintentionally exclude others. We have
been discussing ways that we can support each other in
developing and maintaining positive relationships.
There are many activities and scenarios which can be
used to highlight these messages. Concert preparations,
marimba performances, playground games, orientation
days all provide opportunities for discussions and practical
advice about awareness of how others may be feeling and
making sure that we are ‘includers.’
We’ve always taken great pride in the way students at the
school look out for each other and the way that they are
encouraged to celebrate the achievements or successes
of classmates. Term 4 always provides us with many op-
portunities to further promote these messages and we ask
families to help by discussing this with your child and rein-
forcing these messages at home.
Things to think about…
Looking out for someone who may be feeling left out at
playtime; making sure that we pass the ball around during
soccer games or handball; making others feel welcome
during marimba tutoring times; keeping a close eye out for
our great new Kinders on their Orientation mornings; sup-
porting each other as we prepare for our concert; being
someone who stands up for others; and remembering our
‘Stop, Walk, Talk’ strategy.
