Saturday Outreach Team! Hard at work!!!
Each week our parish community puts out at least 400 Sandwiches, 12 boxes of Pizza (donated from Domino’s Pizza), and all kinds of drinks (Water, coffee, pop, juice) and treats (Chocolate, candies, fruit cups,
and more). These days over 60 people per day come to our door look-ing for food, and we are all too happy to answer the call. This Friday
we served 80 people at our weekly BBQ. We keep adding more burgers to the grill, and MORE people still appear.
Our Ministry is growing as we strive to “Love other as Christ loves us”.

Vigil for Climate Change at St. Patrick
Come and Take Action
The Paris climate negotiations (COP21), to be held in December 2015, are an opportunity to turn the tide on climate change. World leaders will meet with the goal of signing a binding treaty to tackle climate change and solve this urgent crisis. It is time for us to take action as individuals, as a country, and as community parish for the survival of people in the Global South, and for the survival of our planet. On the occasion of this important event, Saint Patrick Parish, to-gether with our young people, is holding a vigil to pray for our world leaders who will meet in Paris. Their decisions could usher in a new era for us and for our planet. Our vigil serves as a significant ex-pression of solidarity and serious commitment to the future of our next generation. We hope you will join us, with your prayers, for this special celebration that our Parish and our youth ministry are leading.
Come join us for this event, Saturday, November 28 at 6.00 pm, after evening Mass, in front the statue of Homeless Jesus ST. PATRICK FRIDAY OUTREACH BBQ This week’s Outreach BBQ is in honour of the memory of Mr. Frank Mason. Frank was a member of Hamilton’s 86th Machine Gun Battalion. He fought at Ypres, Vimy Ridge and Passchendale, where he was wounded in his right leg. As a result of his wound, his leg was amputated a few inches below his hip. Despite his “disability”, Frank lived a productive and busy life as a farmer, and sometimes sole caregiver to his three daughters, as his wife was not well. One of Frank’s daughters, Ruth Miller, wrote a poem each year to commemorate him. This year, at age 86, she is not able to write a poem in his honour, hence this barbeque is offered as a token of admiration by a parishioner. Anyone wishing to sponsor a BBQ in memory of a loved one or in gratitude for life blessings, can do so by contacting our parish office. A short bio will be published in our bulletin the week before. The cost to sponsor a BBQ/Hot Meal is $150. A member of the family can also be present at the BBQ to assist if desired.

SEVEN LIFE LESSONS FR. JAREK LEARNED FROM RUNNING MARATHONS: There is a line in the “Spirit of the Marathon” movie that captured it all: "When you cross that finish line, no matter how slow or fast, it will change your life for-ever" (Dick Beardsley, an American long-distance runner best known for his close finish with Alberto Salazar in the 1982 Boston Marathon). There is no doubt that your life won’t be the same after finishing a marathon, and each week for seven weeks, I will share some lessons I have learned. Here is the final lesson learned by Fr. Jarek: 7. Legacy of the Finish Line: There is an overwhelming feeling when you cross the finish line, of accomplishment and relief at the same time. You’ve just done something that many people are not able (or not willing) to do. You’re a marathoner! Then the reflection follows: “How did I do?” “Was I happy with the race?” “Would I do it again?” Believe it or not, there will be a day when each one of us will cross that final finish line of our life. Don’t wait til then! Ask the questions now – “How am I doing?” Am I happy with my life?” “How can I change if I’m not?”
CWL Christmas Basket Raffle: Tickets are 1 for $2 or 3 for $5 and will be sold this weekend and next. Buy a ticket for a chance to win a choice of 2 lovely Denninger’s Christmas Baskets filled with delicious treats. The draw will take place after the 11:30 Mass, Sunday, November 29. This is your last chance to order a lovely tradi-tional plant for Christmas. Buy one plant for $10 or save and buy two for $15. We would like to thank everyone who has supported this fundraiser.
Last week in our Symbolon session, we stud-ied in more depth the Eucharist. We learned that the term itself comes from New Testament era Greek. By way of a quick quiz, do you know what Eucharist actually means? It comes from the Greek word “Eucharistein”, meaning to give thanks.” So in today’s Mass, why not take some time to make this your ac-tion of thanksgiving to God?
