Mrs. Car- dinale remained for the week at the Clark home. Richard Sandberg has been transferred from Kingston hos- pital to a nursing honje in New York. He suffered a stroke several weeks ago and remains seriously ill. Richard Clark spent Wednes- day at Oyster Bay, L. I., where he attended the funeral of his friend, Patrick Bifulco. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Richard, Mr. and Mrs. Milcolm Richard and family of Bayside and Hol- lis Hills, L. I., spent the week- end at the Richard home. Joyce Wadler of New York spent several days at her home here. Mrs. Edith Sanchis and her inother, Mrs. L. Pietri, of New York spent the weekend with Mrs. R. Brasen and children and visited Mr. Brasen, a pa- tient at Margaretville Memor- ial hospital. Mr. and Mrs. John Hoffman are spending several weeks with their daughter and fam- ily at Ozone Park, L. I., prior to going to Port Charlotte, Fla., for the winter. Lily Blooms Mrs. Gustav Ribstein has an Easter lily that has five blos- soms. The buds opened Oct. 1. Ralph Persons and sons, Matthew and Mark, of Sche- nectady were at their home here Sunday and visited his uncle, Harold R. Persons, and daughter, Bette Seward. Mr. and Mrs. Warren Smith and two daughters spent Sun- day with his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Fischer, at Valley Cottage. Granson Slater is visiting his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Truman Slater, at Fort Plain. A bridal shower was given for Nancy Claudy at the home of Mrs. Nelson Sears at Belle- ayre Mountain ski center on liiursday evening. Miss Claudy received many gifts. Refresh- ments were served. Nancy will Thursday,’ O ct 22 be married to Frank Murray of Hurley on Oct. 31. Morton Memorial library will be open Tuesday evenings from 7 to 9, Thursday after- noons, 3 to 5 and Saturday af- ternoons, 2 to 5. Helen Mer- win is librarian. The monthly meeting of the Upper Esppus Fish and Game club will be tonight, Thursday, at the clubhouse. ' ■ ‘ Dr. Galang Named OCS Physician Phoenicia, Oct. 22. — Dr. Maria Galang, a Phoenicia pedi- atrician, was named a school physician by the Onteora cen- tral board of education at its October meeting Monday night. PhilUp Halzell of Woodland Valley was approved as a non- certified substitute teacher, and Mrs. Margaret Dutcher of Phoenicia was approved as a substitute teacher’s aide. An- drew Bresadola of Phoenicia was approved as a substitute custodian, as of Oct. 7. Aldert Kilmer of Phoenicia was given a supplemental pupil transportation contract of $1 per trip. Contracts for suK>lies were approved as follows: Kingston Oil Supply, .11536 per gallon for fuel oil and $7 per hour for 24-hour burner service; Sillef Beef Co. for meat supply. Auditor’s, clerk’s, treasurer’s and c^eteria reports were ap- proved, and the board approved of several policy procedures. Ingram Sentenced Floyd E. In^am Jr., 23, of Margaretville was found guilty of third degree burglary and petit larceny in Delaware County Court and was sen- tenced Monday to nine months in the Delaware county jail.
