Whitesand’s Easter Festival Another huge thankyou goes to Cala, Kane and Jackson who marched with Miss Roose, Mrs Roskelly, Stevie the dog, Lizzie the unicorn and myself in the Whitesand’s Easter FesƟval on Easter Saturday. I realise it looks like we had a very small school, but would like to acknowledge the number of students who supported the fesƟval by marching for other local organisaƟons such as; Orcas Basketball, Scouts, Girl Guides and Nippers. The march seemed more alive than ever and conƟnues to be a wonderful aspect of Huskisson’s Easter fesƟviƟes. Stronger Smarter Circle During the holidays we took possession of the sandstone blocks for our long planned Stronger Smarter circle. This is the beginning of the development of the Indigenous sculpture garden which will include naƟve plants and arƟsƟc instalments made by students in the coming years. Currently classes are taking the opportunity to use the circle to complete sharing circles and outdoor lessons. Safe Tolerant Achieving Responsible Students Principal’s Message Welcome back everyone, aŌer what has been a very busy holiday. We started our term with a very moving and respecƞul service for ANZAC day. We were joined by Mr Alex Paton from the RSL subbranch who spoke about the meaning of ANZAC day. The children then listened to Lieutenant Travis Lovell from HMAS Creswell, who delivered one of the most relevant and inspiring addresses to young people, that I have ever heard. I would like to thank both gentlemen for being a part of our service. The children have grown from this opportunity. ANZAC Day During the Holiday the township of Huskisson also held their annual ANZAC day march and memorial ceremony. This year we had around 40 students aƩend the march in full school uniform. These students were joined my Mrs Rosskelly, Miss Leslie, Mr & Mrs Vidler and myself. Our school looked wonderful, demonstraƟng reverence and respect for the service men and women who have, and do work Ɵrelessly to allow us to live in freedom. Kelly, Daniel and Hayden; three of our school leaders laid a wreath and represented our school proudly. Thank you to all the parents and community members who make this possible for our school. Jack was excited when he saw the magic beans. He was

very curious when he saw the magic beans. Jack felt

worried when he chopped down the beanstalk. Jack was

scared when the beast smelt him.

Jack has a black coat and black boots. He has a yellow t‐

shirt and shorts. He even has orange, ginger hair.

Jack felt sad when he got in trouble.

Addison Lloyd

Jack was a nice li le boy and he has orange hair. He also

has black shorts and a yellow shirt. He has black boots

and a jacket. He has cute freckles.

Jack felt scared because the giant was chasing him. Jack

felt sad when his mum sent him to bed.

Mason Jennings

Jack was brave to conquer the beanstalk. Jack is very

careless because he sold the cow for beans.

Jack wears white socks so he does not get blisters on his

feet. Jack wears black boots so he does not get bindies.

Jack was excited to plant the beanstalk. Jack was very

scared when the giant was trying to capture him for

brunch! Jack was silly to trade with the old man.

LibraryNewsWeek1Wow, what a start to the new term.  Books have

been slow to be returned, but I am looking forward

to a regular approach to our borrowing sessions and

prompt return of books.

We will con nue to provide a technology rich learn‐

ing experience for our students and are acquiring

new items again this term to help support their learn‐

ing.  Students in Stage 2 and Stage 3 will be jumping

into the world of film‐making.  The Years 3 and 4 stu‐

dents have been studying how things move and have

just completed some great storyboards on how their

toys move.  The Year 5 and 6 students have discov‐

ered that plas c marine debris is killing our oceans

and the life within it.  They are inves ga ng plas c

pollu on through researching product life cycles and

will make mini‐movies reflec ng their knowledge.

I am looking forward to our ongoing technology rota‐

ons with the Year 1 and 2 students and have been

impressed with their perseverance in using our re‐

sources. Next week the Kindergarten students will

start accessing computers by learning how to log on

and off.

In the mean me, happy reading and remember our Book

Fair will be held at the end of the month from Monday

27th May to Wednesday 29th May.  Our Parade of Charac‐

ters will be on Tuesday 28th May and it is not too early to

start thinking about costumes!
