SMS BASED BABY INCUBATOR USING GSM TECHNOLOGYDescription:SMS based Baby Incubator using GSM technology has main application in Hospitals. This project has a Temperature sensor and a Humidity sensor. SMS is sent to the user whenever Temperature or Humidity crosses threshold level. This user should be Doctor or care taking person of baby. Whenever Temperature rises above a threshold level at that time a Relay is turned on. We have provided a 12 volt DC fan at the output of Relay. Whenever Humidity rises above a threshold level, at that time microcontroller gives firing angle pulses to a Triac. This should be connected to a heater. For demo purpose, we have connected a bulb at the output of Triac. The intensity of bulb varies with the increase in Humidity value.Block Diagram:

SOLDIER TRACKING SYSTEM USING GPS AND GSM MODEMDescription:In todays world enemy warfare is an important factor in any nations security. The national security mainly depends on army (ground), navy (sea), air-force (air). The important and vital role is played by the army soldiers. There are many concerns regarding the safety of these soldiers. As soon as any soldier enters the enemy lines it is very vital for the army base station to know the location as well as the health status of all soldiers. In our project we have come up with an idea of tracking the soldier as well as to give the health status of the soldier during the war, which enables the army personnel to plan the war strategies. By using the location sent by the GPS modem, the base station can understand the position of soldier.

It has mainly 4 parts:1) Biomedical sensors: Here to find the health status of soldier we are using a body temp sensor as well as pulse rate sensor. These sensors will measure the body temperature and the pulse rate of soldier and will be stored in microcontroller memory.2) 4 x1 Keypad: Here we are giving 4 keys as a facility to the soldier where he can send 4 pre determined values to the base camp.3) GPS Receiver: The GPS is used to log the longitude and the latitude of soldier, which is stored in the microcontroller memory.4)GSM Modem: The GSM unit sends the SMS to the army base camp containing the health parameters and the location of soldier.Base unit: Upon receiving the SMS, the text message in mobile shows the solders GPS co-ordinates also the health status is displayed. GPS BASED WILDLIFE ANIMAL TRACKING SYSTEMShort description: This project is used to track the location of Animal in the wildlife reserves or national parks. This project utilizes a GPS modem and a GSM modem for this purpose. Forest officer or Government authority person will get these SMS containing Longitude and Latitude.Description:As human race or human society is growing, the wildlife animals or wild animals are in danger. But as per natures rule, every living creature on this earth is important and has important role ecosystem. Also we get some medicines or useful drugs from some animals. We have already realized this, so in every country we see that there are wildlife animal reserves and national parks where these animals can live freely in forest or in a jungle however these are monitored by human beings. Also now days these wildlife national parks have become popular tourist places. Many endangered species or rare species are available or preserved here. For example white tiger, panda and many other animals. But these animals also undergo some disease or there can be some situations where human being attention is required for these animals like vaccination of these animals. If they met with some accident or are hurt then we have to cure their wounds, in such cases we need to catch those animals and do the required treatments. Main problem in such situations is that in large wildlife sanctuaries these animals are really hard to locate. Due to this many times we have to search the entire area.

Animal tracking system in neck beltTo avoid such problems we are implementing a project called Wildlife animal tracking using GPS and GSM technology. In this project a GPS modem helps to get the coordinates of the location. This modem can requires minimum 3 satellites Global Positioning System modem receives location parameters like Longitude and Latitude from the satellite. We have also used GSM modem which sends these parameters to particular mobile number though SMS. This mobile number can be of a Forest officer or any concerned Government authority person. This SMS will help to track the exact location of the animal. And if animal moves inside the animal reserves or forest then the particular variable location parameters are received.We can also add a temperature sensor to this project. If the animal has fever or if there are some wounds on animal body and because of wounds temperature of animal rises, then we can send SMS to the forest officer so he can give immediate attention. This SMS will content message like Temperature crosses threshold level and this message will also contain GPS co-ordinates. This project should be attached to the animal body. So as animal moves from one place to another, the GPS coordinate will change and this change will be intimated using SMS. We can get periodically SMS to the officers mobile numberExisting solution for this wildlife animal tracking:Talking about existing technologies in some countries, many animals have belt in their neck. This belt has a wireless transmitter. A wildlife officer have receiver in his/her hand and will search location. However main drawback of this technique is that range of wireless transmitter is less. In some sensors it is 100 meters in some sensor it is in few kilometers but not more than that. But as we know that forests and wildlife national parks are hundreds of kilometers in length. And in such situations these wireless transmitters are not much useful and they are time consuming. With the help of GPS technology and GSM technology, we can track an animal in the forest of thousands of kilometers in length.Block Diagram:

This GPS modem communicates using serial communication with the microcontroller. GPS modem sends a bunch of data to the microcontroller. This bunch of Data contains many parameters which include longitude and latitude.GSM Modem:We have used GSM modem to send SMS to the user or we can say to the forest officer. We need to insert a GSM simcard into this GSM modem. GSM modem also communicates with microcontroller using serial communication. It receives various commands from microcontroller which are used to send SMS.Temperature sensor:We have used temperature sensor to detect the body temperature of animal. Temperature sensor is an analog sensor. Which means it gives variable voltage as per the variation in the body temperature.Comparator:The output of temperature sensor is in analog format but microcontroller is not able to read analog voltage. It requires digital input of digital data. For this purpose we have used a comparator between temperature sensor and microcontroller. The function of comparator is to give high or low output if the temperature is above or below the threshold level respectively. This comparator has a fixed voltage to its negative terminal. And at its positive terminal we give output of temperature sensor. So whenever the temperature crosses threshold level then comparator gives low output to the microcontroller.LCD display:It is used to show various messages on LCD. Although LCD does not have much use in actual application but still it is really very useful for testing purpose and while developing this project. Because we can show various messages like: Sending SMS or we can display longitude and latitude of current location on LCD display.Microcontroller:This is the important block of this project. It performs various functions like, reading coordinates from GPS modem. It finds out the longitude and latitude from this data. Sends command to the GSM modem for sending SMS. It reads data from Comparator.Wildlife animal tracking on Google mapOnce user has received the location parameter in the format of text SMS, then he can use this location on the map to find the exact geographical location. To find out the location on printed map is quite difficult and it will consume lots of time. However now days many website providers have online maps. Google map is one of the most used and famous online map provider services. User can read the text SMS and then he can type these parameters in Google map to find the exact location.

Animal tracking on Google MapAdvantages:1) This method is fast and convenient as compared to other system.2) This does not require human attention as this is completely self-independent and automated system.This project has one disadvantage: In actual use this project will be operated on a rechargeable battery. So this battery needs to be recharged. For the longer operation of battery, we need to use low power consumption devices, ICs and components; this will increase the cost of the system.Applications:1) Wild life animal tracking To track the animals in forest and wildlife national parks.2) We can use it for domestic purpose to detect pet animals.3) In criminal cases many times we see that police department uses dogs to find out the traces of criminals, so this project can be used in such situationsGREENHOUSE ENVIRONMENT CONTROLLING ROBOTDescription:Conventional Greenhouse controlling technique does not have concept of Robotics. This project consists of temperature, humidity & light monitoring and controlling. This unit is installed on a Robot which moves through the greenhouse on a predefined track. This project will consist of three basis modules. First is Parameters Monitoring second is Parameters Controlling and third is automatic movement of Robot on a predefined path.A display unit will show the values of parameters like Temperature and Light. This will help for the person to know the values, for this purpose we are going to use various sensors, which will be connected to ADC.The other module is named as parameter controlling. It can be used to control the values of temperature. We are going to use two relays for this purpose. First relay should be connected to a FAN and another should be connected to a heater. This system is useful as many times its difficult to measure and control the parameter values manually and also this module is more accurate than the domestic greenhouse system.Robot is given a predefined motion depending upon the track of greenhouse. Robot will move throughout the greenhouse. Then it will measure the values of temperature and light while traveling through the greenhouse. At the same time it will control the values of these parameters.PC interfacing is provided so as to send these parameter values to the PC. At the same time microcontroller will send the plant number or the position of robot to the PC.Block Diagram:

Description in detail:1) TEMPERATURE SENSOR: This is first sensor which uses to sense temperature. This can be temperature sensor, say LM35. The sensor will be placed on the front panel. One can use LCD display to read the temperature.2) LIGHT SENSOR: This is second sensor which uses to sense light. This can be LDR. The sensor will be placed on the front panel.3) AMPLIFIER: Output voltage of temperature sensor is in milivolts. But the ADC requires a voltage in the range of 0 to 5volts. So we need to use an amplifier. We are going to use LM324 which is having 4 inbuilt amplifiers. Since we have two sensors, we have used this Amplifier.4) ADC We are going to use ADC 0808 which is 8 bit and 8 channel ADC. Since we have two inputs for ADC, we have used this ADC.5) LCD: Liquid Crystal Display which is commonly known as LCD is an Alphanumeric Display it means that it can display Alphabets, Numbers as well as special symbols thus LCD is a user friendly Display device which can be used for displaying various messages unlike seven segment display which can display only numbers and some of the alphabets. The only disadvantage of LCD over seven segment is that seven segment is robust display and be visualized from a longer distance as compared to LCD. Here WE have used 16 x 2 Alphanumeric Display which means on this display WE can display two lines with maximum of 16 characters in one line.6) MOTOR DRIVER: We need to drive the DC Motors. For this purpose we need to provide 12 volt supply to motor. Motor driver IC is used for this purpose. We are going to use L293D as a motor driver IC7) RELAY: We need to control the values of temperature. For this purpose we need to drive a fan and heater. We are going to use Relay for this purpose8) PC Interfacing: We are going to use MAX 232 for the purpose of PC interfacing, using this module, we can send various data like temperature, light to the PC.9) MICRO-CONTROLLER (8051): This is the most important segment of the project, i.e. the microcontroller 8052. The controller is responsible for detection and polling of the peripherals status. It is responsible for making. It is responsible for prioritizing all the devices attached to it.WE have used the ATMEL 89s51 microcontroller. The AT89S51 is a low-power, high-performance CMOS 4-bit microcontroller with 8K bytes of in-system programmable Flash memory. It has got 32 I/O lines, Watchdog timer, two data pointers, two 16-bit timer/counters, six-vector two-level interrupt architecture, a full duplex serial port, on-chip oscillator, and a clock circuitry.Applications and Advantages:1) To calculate and control the temperature and light of the environment in the greenhouse.2) Same unit can be used in the industry to control the temperature and light of various units in the industry.REMOTE SURVEILLANCE VEHICLEDescription:This project is used for spying purpose. This is controlled by a mobile or cellphone. In this project, the robot is controlled by a mobile phone that makes a call to the mobile phone attached to the robot. In the course of a call, if any button is pressed, a tone corresponding to the button pressed is heard at the other end of the call. This tone is called dual tone multiple-frequency (DTMF) tone. The robot perceives this DTMF tone with the help of the phone stacked on the robot.The received tone is processed by the microcontroller with the help of DTMF decoder. The microcontroller then transmits the signal to the motor driver ICs to operate the motors. The camera mounted on the robot will give the detailed information of where the robot is and who is around. The signal is then transmitted to the observer via audio/video transmitter-receiver.Block Diagram:

Description in detail:On the robot we have mounted a 12V battery as the power supply for the circuit and the motors. When the user calls the mobile which is mounted on the robot the call is received by auto-answer mode. As the call continues when the user presses a button on his handset the tone that is generated is decoded by the DTMF decoder and the command is passed to the microcontroller which is pre-programmed. Cell Phone Tower Base StationIn todays world mobile or cell phone plays very important role in communication. In mobile communication, for transmission and reception of signals there is a transceiver station known as cell site. Cell phone towers or mobile towers are installed to increase the network coverage of the GSM mobile network provider. Height of this tower varies from 50 feet to 200 feet. At the base of these cell phone towers there is a processing unit or electronic circuit which processes the signal. This unit is also called as Cell site or Base Transmitter Station or Base Transceiver Station (BTS). The aim of Cell Phone Tower Base Station Safety System is to design such a system which can monitor and control various alarms at mobile cell site. Intention of this project is to ensure the safety of this unit which is at the base of cell site. The main objective is to monitor various threats like fire detection, smoke detection, to check the fuel level and to check if the door is left open. The door check is required since many times the maintenance workers forget to properly close the door of the base station unit. A typical cell site or mobile tower base station consists of various units including power management unit (PMU), BTS unit, battery unit and air-conditioners. These different units of cell site require frequent maintenance. For some type of base stations, it is daily and for some types it is weekly. These maintenances are quite expensive. Various parameters like Methane gas, Carbon monoxide gas, Temperature and Humidity are monitored for the safety of coal miners. These sensors are should be fitted in the helmet of the coal miners. Whenever any parameter crosses a particular threshold value, a buzzer is turned on so as to indicate the miner about the danger.
