CLARK GILBERT President and CEO, Deseret News Publishing Company and Deseret Digital Media

The Deseret News is Utah’s longest running business and one of the nation’s fastest growing newspapers, both in print and online. Deseret Digital is one of the largest targeted media networks in the country. It manages the commercial Web properties of the Deseret Media Companies: DeseretNews.com, KSL.com, DeseretBook.com, MormonTimes.com and LDSChurchNews.com.

Prior to DDM, Gilbert was an associate academic vice president at Brigham Young University–Idaho, where he oversaw the university’s online learning and distance education initiatives. He was also a professor of entrepreneurial management at the Harvard Business School and has a background in media innovation.

Gilbert graduated from Brigham Young University. He earned a master’s degree from Stanford University and a doctorate degree from the Harvard Business School.@deseretnews

NEIL CHASE Federated Media

Neil Chase is Senior Vice President for Editorial at Federated Media, where he works with more than 100 of the best independent publishers on the Web. He has worked as an editor and page designer at several newspapers and was Managing Editor at CBS MarketWatch, Continuous News Editor at The New York Times, and an assistant professor at Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.@federated_media

Jason is a certified Personal Branding Strategist and popular blogger and speaker about career management and social tools for professionals. Jason wrote I’m on LinkedIn – Now What???, one of the first books on using LinkedIn. He also wrote I’m on Facebook – Now What??? and is finishing two more books (Eight Lunches, for entrepreneurs and a book on social media etiquette).

Julie is the Digital Marketing Director at Love Communications. As an online marketing strategist and planner with over 15 years of digital and marketing communications experience, she has developed digital branding, online lead generation and eCommerce strategies for numerous B2B and B2C clients while working with advertising agencies in Southern California and Utah.

Julie has extensive experience leading diverse teams and developing fully integrated, customized engagement marketing campaigns with a focus on the Web. MONICA DANNA Cosmopolitician.com

Monica Danna is a marketing and public relations consultant who specializes in holistic marketing strategies for businesses. Before beginning her agency, COLAB, Monica held the position of the first social media manager for Halliburton and its various subsidiaries. Most recently Monica worked with Texas gubernatorial candidate Bill White, developing his social media campaign, an effort that resulted in the most Facebook fans of any campaigning politician in Texas. @CosmoPolitician

KUULEI HANAMAIKAI Digital Marketing Manager, Love Communications

Kuulei is the Digital Marketing Manager at Love Communications. Kuulei manages all Internet marketing projects, working as an SEO content expert, paid search strategist, Project Manager in the development of hand tailored Internet marketing strategies for Love Communications’ clients.

Kuulei has over 13 years of project management and marketing experience. In the past five years, she has specialized in search engine optimization (SEO) and paid search campaigns, with her most recent focus on the effective use of social media marketing and online reputation management campaigns for clients. MIKE PETROFF Vice President of New Media Sales, Deseret Digital Media, Salt Lake City

Mike is the Vice President of New Media Sales and Ad Product Development at Deseret Digital Media. Mike is a new media pioneer with more than a decade of executive management experience in Web analytics, e-commerce, behavioral targeting, A/B multivariate testing, search engine management, search engine optimization and multichannel analytics. Mike has a unique understanding of the online ecosystem and has worked at several key new media companies including Omniture-Adobe and Onestop Internet. Mike was also selected as a Junto Partners mentor for his work at Utah Build.

TROY PATTEEMom It Forward

Troy is the Chief Marketing Officer of Mom It Forward, a boutique media agency that uses social media as a primary tool. The firm has pioneered social media marketing, working with Fortune 500 companies from Kodak and Kraft to Microsoft and Hewlett-Packard. Troy’s 20 years of marketing experience began at McCann-Erickson in New York and has run the gamut from copywriter to business owner. Somewhere along the line he earned an MBA.

Within the past year Troy has climbed an active volcano (which erupted 10 days later); road-tripped through 30 states; and participated in the first ‘Twitter Party’ at sea, aboard the world’s largest passenger ship from somewhere in the Eastern Caribbean. He has season passes at two Utah ski resorts, about which he promulgates the joys of Utah powder to the Twittersphere. @TroyPattee

Rachael Herrscher is CEO and co-founder of TodaysMama, an online media and publishing company founded in 2004. In her role as CEO, Rachael oversees general business operations, social media, new market development, partnerships, and marketing initiatives. She is a featured blogger on Entrepreneur.com, and is a regular speaker at new media, women in business and mom conferences.

As well, Rachael is the co-founder of EVO , a social media conference for women (http://evoconference,com).Rachael was a finalist for the 2007 Stevie Awards “Best Young Entrepreneur” award and was named one of Utah Business Magazine’s 30 Women to Watch in 2009. Roos has BA from the University of Notre Dame, and attended graduate school at Brown University in the Department of Philosophy.

VINCENT HARRIS Founder of Harris Media, LLC

Vincent helped direct the online plan for Gov. Mike Huckabee’s 2008 presidential run, the re-election campaign of Senator John Cornyn, and Bob McDonnell’s successful gubernatorial race in Virginia, noted by many in the media as the first major Republican race to actively utilize new media technologies. Under his leadership, Harris Media has been able to work with a variety of top-tier races across the country, and his firm’s work has been discussed in numerous publications.
