Sub: Introduction of New Format of Registration Number (For Intermediate) &

Identification Number (For Foundation)

The Institute is introducing New Format of Registration Number for Intermediate for students

registered to the Intermediate Course and Identification Number for Foundation Students. Regional

Councils shall continue to allot Registration /Identification numbers as per usual practice. However, the

system would also be made available to Chapters having adequate student strength and infrastructure to

facilitate processing information related to registration. . This information will be stored in an integrated

system, which will enable seamless flow of information to the centralized database of students, located at

the Headquarters. Details of the system with operating manuals will be made available shortly.

With the introduction of this new format, the structure of Identification/ Registration Number allotted to

students will also undergo a change from the existing structure. Such numbers will be system generated at

the time of admission to Foundation or Intermediate Course. Simultaneously, all existing Registration

numbers of students will also be converted and the Regional Councils/Chapters/ students will also beinformed of their Revised Registration Number. The scheme and structure of New Registration Number is

explained below:

1. Enrolment for Foundation CourseAt the time of enrolment for Foundation a student will be allotted unique 12-character, ALPHA-

NUMERIC IDENTIFICATION NUMBER as per the following structure.

2. Registration for Intermediate CourseAt the time of Registration of a student for Intermediate (after passing Foundation Examination orthrough the direct route), the Registration Number of 11-character NUMERIC NUMBER will be

auto generated by the system in the following structure. The Alpha character fields as per the earlier

Registration Number format, shall be discontinued and the entire number structure will henceforth

be numeric:

Training programmes will be conducted at the Regional Councils and major Chapters. The time
