ASSEMBLY DIWALI CELEBRATIONS 24th OCTOBER, 2019

THE JOY OF GIVING

The special assembly on 24th of October was conducted by the students of grade VII A&B in order to mark the celebration of the festival of lights. The assembly started with singing the school song followed by an inspiring thought shared by the students to share the essence of the joy of giving which was further presented through a skit. The Green Brigade motivated the students to celebrate an Eco-friendly Diwali. The Dandiya dance was the special attraction of the assembly. Principal Madam appreciated the assembly and asked the students to be in sync with the thought that was showcased in the assembly.

Students of grade IX presented the morning assembly. The assembly started with mass PT followed by the thought for the day. The best way to start a day is by evoking God’s blessings so a rhythmic prayer song was sung my entire school for seeking God’s blessing. The winners of group song competition were felicitated by our respected Principal Madam. The assembly was concluded by singing the National anthem.

Gandhi Jayanti is a national holiday in India celebrated on 2nd of October. Students at DPS, Sec84 celebrated Gandhi Jyanti with honour and pride to mark the birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation. The assembly started with the prayer song, “Raghupati Raghav” followed with the pledge. Gandhi‘s ideology of non violence was well presented through a role play. Students

AN INTER-SCHOOL FEST

REVERIE an Inter School Fest, is a platform for the youngsters to exhibit their natural talent and put their skills in the spotlight to prove their mettle by participating in various Inter school events, a novel way to engage students into their world of fantasy and innovation, be it becoming a sharp story teller or an adept IT expert or creating an outstanding outfit out of trash. The event focused on the holistic approach to a child’s development, which enables them to possess inimitable skills.

We were overwhelmed to offer this opportunity across NCR by inviting

school to participate and make it a memorable experience for all.

Toran making activity was conducted on 19th October, 2019. The fun filled activity

witnessed an enthusiastic participation of teachers, parents and students.

Deepavali means an array of lights. The festival spiritually signifies the victory of light over ignorance, good over evil and hope over despair. Children of DPS, SEC-84 participated in a plethora of activities to enjoy the festival of lights. Students decorated the earthen lamps, made cards and colourful torans. Children participated with joy, enthusiasm and excitement.

The Joy of sharing has a very special significance attached to it for us at DPS. It also has a social and a global connect associated with it. We aim at building the experience of sharing and giving which helps build the spirit of brotherhood and gratitude amongst our children for everyone around. As a special initiative for an NGO- Spread a Smile India , teachers, parents and children with support staff members made beautiful diyas, torans and candles for these children

JOY OF GIVING COMMUNITY SERVICE

Students of grade II participated in an Intra –class competition with great spirit and fervour. Students were supposed to make a poster using Microsoft Word on the topic ‘Ban the single use of Plastic’. The competition was judged on presentation, content and use of formatting tools.

Grade III

The students of Delhi Public School, sector 84 participated with full zeal and enthusiasm in in an Intra Class IT Competition. Students of grade III implemented the concept of Robotics by drawing a robot called “My Buddy Robo” in Tux Paint and showed how robots can be helpful in our day to day routine works. The competition offered a wonderful opportunity for students to showcase their knowledge, unleash their creativity and power of imagination.

TECHNOPHILE GRADE III

Keeping in view the importance and up trend of Artificial intelligence in the contemporary world, DPS Sector 84, organized an Inter Class IT Competition in which students were supposed to demonstrate the concept of A I Superpowers in Paint 3D software. Students were confident and recited their knowledge about AI by implementing it on Paint 3D. They were applauded for their superb performance. Winners were awarded with certificates.

TECH SAVVY…………..

. DPS, SEC-84, organized an interschool IT completion as a part of Interschool Inter disciplinary Learning Event –REVERIE. Our school hosted two events: Creating a Scratch Animation on Moon Mission and building sustainable cities using Minecraft. In both the categories students exhibited innovative ideas and soft skills in their creations. In Minecraft , students came up with unbelievable futuristic ideas to save water and Hi-Tech security systems. It was a great learning experience for all the participating students. Our Students IT Heads Suryansh Gupta, Aryan Kataria , Mayank Grade VIII) contributed greatly in overall scheduling of the events . They created Minecraft server for school and closely monitored the ongoing creations of different schools.

What can be learned on the ground cannot be learned in the classroom. At DPS we lay a strong emphasis on sports and physical development .Our sports curriculum is planned and designed for students to develop and enhance skills like strength , speed , endurance , agility , flexibility , control , balance etc. Sports today have also evolved as a form of entertainment and also offer promising careers. We believe in mass participation, exposing our students to a number of sports at inter-school and state level.
